Anderson’s untitled coming-of-age drama is set in the San Fernando Valley in the 1970s. The film follows a high school student, who is also a successful child actor, and will involve multiple storylines.

Focus originally acquired the project in December 2019 with plans to begin production in spring or summer 2020, which was put on pause due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The studio planned to distribute domestically with Universal Pictures International handling global distribution.
