The report notes that Bong’s next film will be made at Warner Bros. and will be based on Edward Ashton’s forthcoming novel Mickey7, which is described as a mix between Andy Wier’s The Martian and Blake Crouch’s Dark Matter. It tells the story of an “expendable” who won’t allow his clone, Mickey8, to take over for him. It’s unclear what role Pattinson will play in the upcoming film as of now.
Bong’s latest film, 2019’s Parasite, earned massive praise and took home a ton of awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay at the 2020 Academy Awards.
Bong is also currently working on limited series based on Parasite for HBO, making his ties to Warner Bros. even stronger following that and the release of his next film.
