Nathan Fielder Tries to Stop Airplane Crashes in HBO’s The Rehearsal Season 2 Trailer

Nathan Fielder is attempting to stop airplane crashes in the first full trailer for HBO’s The Rehearsal Season 2.

The Rehearsal is a docu-comedy series written and directed by Fielder, who also plays himself. The first season premiered in July 2022 to rave reviews, while the second season will now premiere later this month.

What happens in The Rehearsal Season 2 trailer?

The Rehearsal Season 2 trailer opens with Fielder explaining that he’s been “studying commercial aviation disasters as a hobby.” He says he’s “noticed a disturbing pattern in the causes of the crashes” and has come up with a potential solution that involves “role-playing exercises.”

Fielder then appears to create an elaborate, role-playing scenario to help prevent future crashes; although, he first needs the public and governing boards to get behind the idea.

“The Rehearsal follows one man’s journey to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life,” the logline reads. “With a construction crew, a legion of actors, and seemingly unlimited resources, Fielder helps ordinary people prepare for life’s biggest moments by ‘rehearsing’ them in carefully crafted simulations of his own design. In season two, the urgency of Fielder’s project grows as he decides to put his resources toward an issue that affects us all.”

Fielder also serves as an executive producer on The Rehearsal Season 2 alongside Eric Notarnicola, Dave Paige, Christie Smith, and Dan McManus. Adam Locke-Norton is the producer, while Kris Eber and Carrie Kemper serve as co-executive producers. Notarnicola, Kemper, and Locke-Norton also serve as writers.

The Rehearsal Season 2 will premiere on HBO on Sunday, April 20, 2025. The new season will have six episodes in total, with new episodes being released on Max on Sundays at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Weapons Trailer for Josh Brolin Horror Movie Is ‘Bats— Insane,’ Wows CinemaCon

Filmmaker Zach Cregger‘s directorial debut was the sex comedy Miss March, but he’s most memorable for his horror flicks. He provided twists and turns with his horror film Barbarian and worked as co-producer in the sci-fi thriller Companion. His return as director follows the Josh Brolin-led horror film Weapons with its trailer wowing CinemaCon, calling it “batshit insane.”

What we knew so far about Weapons was that New Line Cinema would nab Zach Cregger’s horror movie. Pedro Pascal originally planned to lead until his commitments to The Fantastic Four: First Steps made him pull out. Josh Brolin ended up replacing him. More that will be featured in the ensemble cast includes Ozark’s Julia Garner, Solo’s Alden Ehrenreich, 3 Body Problem’s Benedict Wong, and more.

While Weapons’ original release date was January 2026, the upcoming horror film moved up to August of this year. Its distributor, Warner Bros., clearly liked what they saw to move up the upcoming movie. With no trailer brought to the public just yet, Variety confirmed that a disturbing look premiered at this year’s CinemaCon that both wowed and freaked out those at the Las Vegas venue.

What was shown in the CinemaCon Weapons trailer?

As shown at CinemaCon, Julia Garner will be playing an elementary school teacher. She makes a startling discovery to find her entire first-period class disappeared the night before.

“Mrs. Gandy’s room was totally empty,” said the voiceover of a mysterious little girl in the trailer. “Because the night before, at 2:17 a.m., every kid woke up, got out of bed, walked downstairs and into the dark and they never came back.”

With Julia Garner’s character as the source of anger during this strange occurrence, Josh Brolin’s character adds to it. In the trailer, he appears as a depressed parent demanding answers from the schoolteacher about his missing daughter.

However, these missing kids aren’t completely missing to the schoolteacher. They appear before her as unsettling apparitions, displaying hollow eye sockets and chilling smiles. The footage showed the seemingly possessed children sleepingwalking merrily with a clown-looking female hiding deep in the woods at the trailer’s end.

New Line Cinema chief Richard Brener described Weapons as “intriguing and unpredictable, with a nice helping of batshit insane.” As Zach Cregger depicted his project as a movie that “unravels and reinvents” as it goes on, it looks like there will be plenty of horrifying twists in store, just like his previous works.

Prepare for some scares this summer by watching Weapons in theaters on August 8th.

The White Lotus Amor Fati: What Is the Meaning of the Season 3 Finale Title?

Many fans are wondering what “Amor Fati” means, as the title of The White Lotus Season 3 finale. The show’s preview for Episode 8 has teased a character death and plenty of chaos as the hotel’s guests try to keep themselves alive. From the very start of the first episode, we know that gunshots will be fired. The phrase “amor fati” actually has a meaning that fits the situation and a philosophy that some of the characters might embrace by the end.

What does “Amor Fati” mean in The White Lotus Season 3 finale?

“Amor Fati,” the episode title for The White Lotus Season 3 finale, is a Latin phrase that means “love of one’s fate,” a stance where a person effectively embraces the chaos of life instead of trying to control it.

The expression is most associated with Nietzche who says that “amor fati” is his prescribed “formula for greatness in a human being.” It’s a way of life where a person not only accepts both the good and bad in life, but loves it. Instead of getting upset when luck doesn’t go their way, a person following “amor fati” would not get frustrated but accept the reality of the situation for what it is.

This philosophy could apply to more than one character on the show so far. Perhaps the most relevant would be Rick Hatchett (Walton Goggins), who has been pretty much a prick with a chip on his shoulder throughout the season and has been so frustrated with his life that he takes it out on his girlfriend, Chelsea. Another would be Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs), the financier who refuses to accept his fate and worryingly asks about the toxic seeds of the pong-pong fruit in the Episode 8 preview.

There’s also an argument that “amor fati” could relate to Belinda Lindsey (Natasha Rothwell), the spa manager from Season 1, since she bemoans her fate of having to deal with “Gary” (Jon Gries).

At any rate, the title for Episode 8 is a great way to connect many of the characters together and challenges us to ask whether they should roll with the punches or continue avoiding their fate.
