Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock Series Casts Holmes’ Dad & Mom

Update: According to Deadline, Joseph Fiennes and Natascha McElhone have joined the series as Sherlock’s father, Silas, and his mom Cordelia, respectively.

After recently working together in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare movie, director Guy Ritchie will be reuniting with Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After movies, The Woman King) on a Young Sherlock Holmes series.

According to Variety, Prime Video has officially granted a straight-to-series order to the upcoming adaptation of Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes novels. Tiffin is attached to play the titular role, which serves as his first major TV project as the lead. As for Ritchie, he has signed on to direct and executive produce the show, after over a decade since directing Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows sequel.

“In Young Sherlock, we’re going to see an exhilarating new version of the detective everyone thinks they know in a way they’ve never imagined before,” Ritchie said in a statement. “We’re going to crack open this enigmatic character, find out what makes him tick, and learn how he becomes the genius we all love.”

What to expect from the Young Sherlock Holmes series?

Young Sherlock Holmes will be written and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill. The series is also executive produced by Lane, Simon Kelton, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Maxwell, Dhana Gilbert, Colin Wilson, Marc Resteghini and Harriet Creelman. Prior to Young Sherlock, Ritchie recently served as the creator, director, and writer on Netflix’s The Gentlemen series which hasn’t been renewed yet.

“The series is an action-packed origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective in an explosive re-imagining of this iconic character,” reads the logline. “At age 19, Sherlock Holmes is disgraced, raw, unfiltered, and unformed, when he finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University which threatens his freedom. Diving into his first-ever case with a wild lack of discipline, Sherlock manages to unravel a globe-trotting conspiracy that will change his life forever.”

What happens in the Johnny Puff: Secret Mission trailer?

The trailer highlights the next adventure of Johnny and his friends which involves going up against a villainous walrus. He first voiced the character in animated spin-off series to 2019’s Arctic Dogs movie. Depp is no stranger to the animated genre, after lending his voice in movies like Corpse Bride, Rango, and Sherlock Gnomes.

“Johnny Depp soars to new heights of adventure with Johnny Puff! When the dastardly Otto von Walrus threatens to plunge the world into icy chaos, it’s up to Johnny Puff (Depp) and his feathered friends to put a stop to his frosty plans,” reads the synopsis.

The film is written and directed by Néstor F. Dennis. In addition to Depp, Drew Crosby will also be lending his voice to the animated movie. It is executive produced by Monika Bacardi and Andrea Iervolino, with Denis and Cristóbal Rodríguez producing.

Spider-Man’s Jon Watts Tapped to Direct Murder 101 Movie Based on True Crime Podcast

Jon Watts has been tapped to direct Murder 101, a new Amazon MGM Studios movie based on the true crime podcast of the same name.

Per Deadline, Watts will direct the forthcoming film that is inspired by KT Studios’ and iHearts’ true crime podcast.

What is the Murder 101 podcast about?

“In a small Tennessee town, a local serial killer was caught by the most unlikely investigators: A group of high school students, led by their teacher, Alex Campbell,” the podcast’s description reads. “Throughout the course of one school semester, the class pieced together a 30-year-old mystery and identified the killer behind at least six brutal murders. Shockingly, while the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations publicly agrees with their theory, no charges have been filed against the murderer. While some sleuthing students already have graduated, they, along with a fresh crop of current high schoolers, still want to finish the assignment, once and for all.”

Watts will produce the movie alongside Dianne McGunigle and Stephanie Lydecker. No stars are currently attached to appear in the film.

Watts is known for directing Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man trilogy, which includes 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, and 2021’s Spider-Man No Way Home. Prior to that, he made 2014’s Clown with Eli Roth and 2015’s Cop Car with Kevin Bacon.

His next film will be Wolfs with George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Releasing in September 2024, Wolfs follows two professional “fixers” who find themselves hired for the same job and then reluctantly forced to work together.

Watts also co-created the upcoming Star Wars series, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, with Christopher Ford, which stars Jude Law and will premiere on Disney+ in late 2024.

Murder 101 does not yet have an official release date from Amazon MGM Studios.

Bad Cop Episode 1 & 2 Recap: What Happens in Anurag Kashyap’s Web Series?

The OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar recently introduced a new Hotstar Special web series, Bad Cop. Starring Gulshan Devaiah, Anurag Kashyap, and Harleen Sethi, the series arrived on the streaming giant on Friday, June 21. It is directed by Aditya Datt. While the show has got viewers hooked, its makers have unveiled only two episodes so far.

Here is what happened in Bad Cop Episodes 1 and 2: 

Bad Cop Episode 1: Karan Ya Arjun recap

Bad Cop Episode 1 begins with Kiki entering a hotel room with a middle-aged man. Arjun (played by Gulshan Devaiah), who poses to be Shreya’s husband, catches them red-handed while holding a gun. Though it looks like a family drama gone wrong, it soon turns out that Shreya and Arjun are fraudsters. They run away when the hotel staff enters the room. As they try to escape, they witness the murder of a journalist named Anand Mishra. 

Later, Karan, a police officer who is Arjun’s twin brother, is introduced. While Karan stays true to his work, his personal life involving his wife and boss, SHO Devika, does not seem to be going well. Bad Cop then sees its lead antagonist, Kazbe (played by Anurag Kashyap). Kazbe, a dreaded gangster, functions from behind bars. Karan is tipped off about a consignment of Kazbe, which turns out to be a setup to kill him. 

On the other hand, the man whose murder Arjun witnessed was a friend of CIB officer Arif Khan. After learning about his friend’s brutal murder, he begins the investigation, which leads him to Arjun. A terrified Arjun reaches out to Karan, who is stuck in the middle of the setup. The two twin brothers fight for their lives but get shot multiple times. While they both jump into the sea, the police rescue only one of them. Devika sends a backup force to Karan, and the episode ends with one of the brothers in the hospital. 

The official synopsis of the first episode reads, “Petty thief Arjun accidentally witnesses a crime. Kazbe rules the underground from inside the prison. Police inspector Karan gets a tip-off about a dubious consignment.”

Bad Cop Episode 2: Pehchan Kaun recap

Bad Cop Episode 2 begins with Karan waking up in the hospital and Devika revealing that Raahil has been killed. Meanwhile, Karan’s suspicious behavior intrigues the viewers. On the other hand, it is revealed that Kazbe smuggles animal products, and he had made the setup to kill Karan. As the plan has failed, Kazbe curses his nephew.

Further in the episode, Arif Khan learns about Karan and Arjun and asks his superiors to let him investigate the case. Karan and Arjun are orphan twins who were separated after the former was adopted by a family. It is soon revealed that the police have rescued Arjun and not Karan when Devika brings him home. Arjun calls Kiki as he mourns Karan’s death. While Devika learns about Anand Mishra’s murder case, Arjun plots an escape plan. Arjun leaves a letter for Devika, but his and Kiki’s cab gets attacked by Kazbe’s nephew. They somehow escape the attack, and Kazbe gets furious with his nephew. Arjun realizes the connection between Kazbe and the death of Karan. He recalls how Karan always loved him and had his back, so he plots another plan to avenge his death.

The storyline of Bad Cop takes a new turn when Arjun decides to play Karan until he defeats Kazbe. When Devika almost reads Arjun’s letter, he reaches Karan’s home and saves his plan. Moreover, Arif also reaches Karan’s house to investigate Arvind’s murder.

Episode 2’s synopsis reads, “CIB officer Khan finds CCTV footage of Karan and learns his secret. A guilt-ridden Arjun leaves a letter for Devika. On his way out of the city, he gets attacked again.”

Amazon Prime Video’s new TV and movie releases for June 24-30 2024 include the documentary music film I Am: Celine Dion, and the romantic comedy show My Lady Jane.

On June 25, subscribers can delve into I Am: Celine Dion, a musical documentary that explores the life and struggles of the iconic singer, Dion, focusing on her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).

Then, on June 27, My Lady Jane debuts on Amazon Prime Video. This romantic comedy series retells the story of Lady Jane Grey, a Tudor noblewoman who was the Queen of England for just nine days in the year 1553 before her execution. This retelling sees Grey survive her execution and go on a big blissful adventure filled with fantasy, romance, and fun.

Furthermore, Amazon Prime Video will release Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, this week. It is a 2016 biopic war-comedy based on the memoir Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan by U.S. journalist Kim Barker. Trigger Warning Interview: Jessica Alba & Mouly Surya Talk Netflix Movie

ComingSoon Editor-in-Chief Tyler Treese spoke to Trigger Warning star Jessica Alba and director Mouly Surya about Netflix’s new action movie. The duo discussed the film’s great hardware action scene and working with Anthony Michael Hall. The film begins streaming on Netflix on Friday, June 21.

“A skilled Special Forces commando (Jessica Alba) takes ownership of her father’s bar after he suddenly dies, and soon finds herself at odds with a violent gang running rampant in her hometown,” says the synopsis.

Tyler Treese: Jessica, you are just whooping some serious ass throughout Trigger Warning, and you’re looking so cool while doing so. There’s this scene early on where you’re using a broom, you’re using all these tools in this fight, just anything you can grab. Don’t get me wrong, it’s awesome seeing you with a machete and a gun, but there has to be something kind of special about doing these more eccentric fight scenes, right?

Jessica Alba: Yeah, it is really fun. I would say the sort of Krav Maga-style, I guess, is when you just take whatever is within arm’s reach to take your opponent down, and that like raw kind of gritty fight style is something I’ve always really enjoyed watching. So it was definitely something I wanted to bring into these fights.

Mouly, you’ve done these great thrillers in Indonesia, so it’s very exciting to see your take on an action movie like Trigger Warning. What was most interesting about really challenging yourself and getting to do something that has more action and is at a larger scale than your previous movies?

Mouly Surya: It was a great challenge. What was the American expression? The fish out of the water. It’s the fish-out-of-water experience. You flew here, drive on the opposite side of the world, and it’s a whole new thing. But I think I took it one day at a time. For example that hardware store scene, I’ve actually never seen a hardware store in America before. So when I saw it on paper, I was like, “Yeah, let’s see what happens.” Then I went on a scout, and I went to the hardware store for the first time and I was like, “Oh, wow. This is very interesting. I can do this, I can do that.” And then I talked to the stunt guys and worked on that scene.

So that was kind of like what I was trying to do in a way. That collaborative workspace and kind of like seeing it from a probably new perspective. Because [I’m working on] a set in America and seeing what I can do something [from] my perspective in a new space. [I got to] collaborate with all these great people. With the best stunt team in the whole world, I would say.

Jessica, you have these very intense scenes with Anthony Michael Hall, who has such an intense scene presence in Trigger Warning. What just stood out about acting opposite him?

Alba: I mean, it wasn’t that hard because he was so in the pocket, and it was wild because when you read it on paper and then when he would breathe life into it, it just had a weight and a gravitas to it. He had like a swagger where you were like, “Okay, I see how this villain is really operating.” Then, it was easy for me to show up, and it brought things out of Parker that I never anticipated until I was in that moment.

Mouly, do you think your next film will also be English, or what’s the current plan?

Surya: I’ve actually done my next film already in Indonesian. It’s in Dutch and Indonesian, so yeah, there’s some English in it as well.

Land of Bad Netflix Streaming Release Date Set for Russell Crowe Action Thriller

Land of Bad, the action thriller led by Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth, has set its Netflix streaming date. This comes just a few months after the movie graced theaters on February 16.

Apart from its theatrical release, Land of Bad also arrived on digital on March 19 followed by a DVD release on May 19, which ComingSoon exclusively shared a deleted scene from the William Eubank-directed action feature. 

When is the Land of Bad Netflix streaming release date?

Ahead of the release date of Hemsworth’s debut as Geralt of Rivia (previously played by Henry Cavill) in the upcoming fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher, the actor can be seen as Sergeant JJ Kinney alongside Crowe’s Reaper when Land of Band arrives on the streamer on July 18. 

“In the film, a covert Special Forces operation in the South Philippines spirals into a brutal 48-hour battle for survival,” the synopsis reads. “When an elite extraction team is ambushed deep in enemy territory, rookie officer Kinney is left outnumbered but determined to leave no man behind. With an air strike closing in, Kinney’s only hope hinges on the guidance of Air Force drone pilot Reaper, navigating unknowable danger where every move could be their last.”

Eubank directed the feature from a screenplay he co-wrote with David Frigerio. In addition to Crowe and Hemsworth, the R-rated film also stars Ricky Whittle (The 100) as Sergeant Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us) as Master Sergeant John Sweet, and Daniel MacPherson (Strike Back) as Colonel Duz Packett. 

The rest of the cast includes Chika Ikogwe as Staff Sergeant Nia Branson, Robert Rabiah as Saeed Hashimi, Jack Finsterer as Victor Petrov, and George Burgess as Private Cooper. 

Apart from starring, Hemsworth also executive produced Land of Bad alongside Tracey Robertson, Nathan Mayfield, Tracey Vieira, Jack Bear Liu, Vanessa Yao Guo, Delphine Perrier, Sophie Jordan, and more.

Land of Bad hits Netflix on July 18.

M3GAN Spin-off Soulm8te Is a Technological Erotic Thriller

A M3GAN spin-off to the franchise of horror films is in the works in the form of an erotic thriller named Soulm8te.

The film, according to Variety, will center around a man that “acquires an Artificially Intelligent android to cope with the loss of his recently deceased wife,” the film’s synopsis explains. “In an attempt to create a truly sentient partner, he inadvertently turns a harmless lovebot into a deadly soulmate.”

What do we know about the M3GAN spin-off?

Not too much is known about the upcoming movie, but it is being described as centering around the feel of “90s domestic thrillers” but with a technological twist. Kate Dolan (You Are Not My Mother) will direct the film, which is tentatively scheduled to release on January 2, 2026.

“Fundamentally, I view this film as an exploration of relationships and loneliness,” said Dolan in a statement announcing the new project. “Despite technological advances, there are enduring human truths we cannot escape, and I am looking forward to delving into those depths.”

Alongside directorial duties, Nolan also rewrote an original draft written by Rafael Jordan, while the story is being credited to James Wan, Ingrid Bisu, and Jordan.

After breaking out as a hit in 2023, a sequel to M3GAN, titled M3GAN 2.0, is currently in the works. That film will see stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw reprise their roles from the original movie, and is scheduled to release on June 27, 2025.

What happens in the Place of Bones trailer?

The Place of Bones trailer features Graham’s character removing the legs of an unconscious intruder, who has dangerous enemies coming for his stolen treasure. His presence jeopardizes the safety of Graham’s character and her daughter, leading them to fight for their survival.

“On a remote ranch, a mother and her daughter fight for survival when a wounded outlaw seeking refuge brings a notorious bank robber and his ruthless gang, all desperate to reclaim a stolen fortune, right to their doorstep in this action-packed horror Western,” reads the synopsis.

The film is directed by Audrey Cummings from a screenplay written by Richard Taylor. Deadpool & Wolverine Officially Wraps Post-Production Ahead of July Release

Deadpool & Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds confirmed on his social media account that post-production on Marvel Studios’ first R-rated superhero movie has officially been completed. The blockbuster star shared the news along with a behind-the-scenes picture of him and director Shawn Levy, who can be seen supervising the editing process of the third Deadpool movie.

“And that’s all she wrote for post production. Feels like a million years of work went by in a blink. Sitting next to this guy [Levy] made it all so sweet…Hard to walk away,” Reynolds said in his Instagram story post.

When is the release date for Deadpool & Wolverine?

Deadpool & Wolverine is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters next month on Friday, July 26. This comes after over six years since Deadpool was last seen by fans on the big screen. The upcoming film will also serve as the X-Men franchise’s official introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadpool & Wolverine is directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay written by Reynolds, Levy Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. The third installment features returning Marvel stars Reynolds as Wade Wilson/ Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Logan/ Wolverine, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio. They will be joined by MCU newcomers The Crown’s Emma Corrin and Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen have also joined the cast to play the roles of Cassandra Nova and TVA agent Paradox, respectively.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Gameplay Trailer Teases Next Entry in Classic Series

Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct featured a Metroid Prime 4: Beyond gameplay trailer, with fans finally able to see new footage of the highly anticipated next entry in the Metroid saga.

The new trailer didn’t show off too much, but did focus on some classic Metroid gameplay aspects, including Samus arriving on a planet and getting into a firefight with some enemies. Upon entering a facility, the trailer also shows off Samus’ ability to roll into a ball and move through vents, before ending on another battle.

The next entry in the Metroid franchise will arrive sometime in 2025 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

What do we know about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond?

Currently, not a whole lot is known about the upcoming game. Originally announced in 2017, the project has gone through some turbulent times. At first, Bandai Namco Studios was heading up development, and after two years of work, Nintendo announced in 2019 that development would be restarted, this time with Retro Studios — the original developers of the franchise — at the helm.

The Metroid Prime series began in 2002, with a game developed by Retro Studios for the Nintendo Gamecube. The title was a massive hit, and brought the Metroid franchise into the future by being the first Metroid game to use 3D graphics and a first-person perspective.

Two follow-up games, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, were released in 2004 and 2007, respectively.

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has announced that George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will be available for Premium Digital Ownership at home for $29.99 and for 48-hour rental via PVOD for $24.99 on participating digital platforms (such as Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, and more) on June 25, 2024.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will then be available to own on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on August 13, 2024.

A Furiosa Black & Chrome Edition, which is a version of the film that removes the color and instead features a black and chrome aesthetic, will be made available later this year. The Black & Chrome Edition will feature an introduction from Miller.

Additionally, a five-film Mad Max collection — which includes 1979’s Mad Max, 1981’s Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, 1985’s Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road, and 2024’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga — will be released on 4K UHD later this year.

“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus,” the synopsis for the movie reads. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Hulu Schedule June 17-23 2024: New TV Shows & Movies Being Added

Hulu‘s new TV and movie releases for June 17-23 2024 include the complete third season of Shoresy, and the movies Marmalade and Prey.

From June 21 onwards, Hulu subscribers can check out Shoresy Season 3 in its entirety. A spin-off of Letterkenny, Shoresy follows the title character as he moves to Sudbury, Ontario, and takes a job with the hockey team Sudbury Bulldogs, in an attempt to never lose in life again.

Also on the same day, viewers will be able to watch Marmalade (2024), a crime romantic-drama movie following Baron who befriends his fellow inmate Otis while in prison. Baron and Otis hatch a plan to escape together, during which the former recounts his and his girlfriend Marmalade’s love story.

Finally, on June 22, Prey hits Hulu. This 2024 action-thriller movie directed by Mukunda Michael Dewil follows a young couple who’s forced to leave their missionary station following a threat. They soon find themselves in a horrific scenario where they contend with beasts and men.

Also releasing on Hulu this week is the dubbed version of Mission: Yozakura Family Season 1. Mission: Yozaukar Family is a comedy anime based on Hitsuji Gondaira’s manga series of the same name. The story follows a boy named Taiyo Asano, who is orphaned when his parents die in a car crash. He soon learns that the vice principal of his school is a spy and the elder brother of his childhood pal Mutsumi Yozakura. Taiyo soon marries Mutsumi and becomes a spy himself to protect her and avoid her brother’s wrath.

HBO Max‘s new TV and movie releases for June 17-23 2024 include the HBO originals Here to Climb, Slave Play. Not A Movie. A Play, and Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple.

Starting June 18, Tuesday, HBO Max subscribers can tune into the platform to check out Here to Climb. It is a documentary series following professional climber Sasha DiGiulian’s life and career, from her beginnings as a child prodigy to her eventual ascension as a champion sport climber.

Then on June 20, Thursday, Slave Play. Not A Movie. A Play will arrive on HBO Max. This documentary movie follows playwright and actor Jeremy O. Harris and how he created the provocative play Slave Play, which shot him to fame.

Finally, June 22 will bring Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple to HBO Max. This documentary chronicles the life and career of Stevie Van Zandt. He is known for being a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E. Street Band and for playing Silvio Dante, the consigliere of Tony Soprano in The Sopranos.

Other HBO Max releases this week include Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood, a two-part docuseries chronicling the feud between Swift and Braun, sparked by the $300 million dispute between the two after Braun bought the rights to Swift’s six albums in June 2019. Braun had also accused Swift of having turned her fanbase against him.

Outer Banks Season 4 Wraps Filming, BTS Photos Shared by Series Actor

Filming for Outer Banks Season 4 has officially come to an end, bringing Netflix’s hit teen drama closer to its highly anticipated return. Series actor Cullen Moss, who plays Deputy Shoupe in the series, has shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the upcoming fourth season. 

The fourth season of the streamer’s popular series had begun filming earlier in 2023 but was delayed due to the Hollywood strikes at the time. The cast and crew then resumed production later that year. Now, Moss confirmed on Instagram that Season 4 has officially wrapped filming.

“And that’s a wrap on what added up to over a year of shooting the fourth season [of] one of the most fun shows on television. This year was marked by not only the usual incredible cast and coolest, most fun and talented crew, but also a parade of some of my dearest friends lending their immense talent in front of and behind the lens,” Moss wrote.

What to expect in Outer Banks Season 4?

Apart from the exact release date, the official synopsis has yet to be revealed. Regardless, viewers can expect an intense season coming their way, given how the third season ended. All of the Pogues will also return for Season 4 to reprise their fan-favorite roles. That includes Chase Stokes as John, Madelyn Cline as Sarah, Rudy Pankow as JJ, Madison Bailey as Kie, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, and Carlacia Grant as Cleo. 

In addition to Moss, the new season will also see the return of Drew Starkey as Rafe and Austin North as Topper, with Fiona Palomo’s Sofia returning as a series regular. 

“A tight-knit group of teens unearths a long-buried secret, setting off a chain of illicit events that takes them on an adventure they’ll never forget,” the logline for Outer Banks reads.

The Boys Season 4 Episode 1, 2, & 3 Recap and Spoilers

The first three episodes of The Boys Season 4 has dropped on Amazon Prime and continues about six months after the season three finale. That’s a good amount of content for viewers to watch all at once, but some are looking for a quick recap and spoilers of what happens through Episodes 1, 2, and 3 of the fourth season. And given that the popular superhero show will release on a weekly basis through the summer of 2024, some might want a refresher of the events that occurred in these episodes instead of having to rewatch them all. Here’s a recap and summary of what happened in the premiere episodes of The Boys Season 4.

What happened in The Boys Season 4 Episode 1?

The following is a recap of Episode 1 for The Boys Season 4:

• Victoria Neuman steps on stage at a political rally as the votes are counted for the Singer-Neuman ticket. The Boys, with Marvin (or MM) being the new captain, are working as a team backed by the CIA to take Neuman down because Robert Singer is afraid of a Sup being the vice president and one bullet away from the presidency.
• Homelander has anxiety about aging, picking out white hairs, and appears at the rally along with Ryan. He is on trial for killing a protestor in broad daylight at the end of season three. Butcher attempts to convince him to join him instead, but Homelander intercedes. We learn that Butcher has six months left to live due to the Temp V he used in season three.
• The team tries to assassinate Neuman, but her daughter interrupts the operation with her own powers while Neuman finds Hugh in the team’s stakeout van and remains unfazed over their attacks.
• Back at CIA headquarters, Grace Mallory and Singer tell off Marvin about the botched operation, while Butcher reunites with agent Joe Kessler who believes that the agency needs more ruthless people like him.
• Annie January becomes the figurehead for the Starlighter movement, which opposes Vaught and the Hometeamer movement. Organizers want Annie to appear as Starlight for the campaign, but wants to be done with that persona.
• Homelander, A-Train, The Deep, Black Noir 2, and Ashley Barrett go through potential candidates to fill the remaining two seats of The Seven. Homelander, however, is annoyed by their sycophantic behavior and storms off. He later meets with Sister Sage, one of the smartest people on the planet, and impressed by her intelligence and candidness, offers her a spot on The Seven.
• While The Boys wants to kick Butcher off the team, he secretly meets with Neuman. It is revealed that a virus is being created to kill Homelander but the virus isn’t ready yet. Butcher offers to kill Homelander for her, but she wants him to grab Hugh’s files on her being raised in Red River Institute as a sign of good faith.
• Frenchie is hesitant to be in a relationship with Colin, but Kimiko thinks he shouldn’t hold back.
• Marvin follows Todd who meets with Sister Sage and two other fans to meet members of The Seven at Planet Vaught. Homelander orders A-Train, Black Noir, and The Deep to murder the three fans with bats. Sister Sage infiltrates the Starlighter crowd at the courthouse when the not-guilty verdict is read and instigates a fight between them and the Hometeamers. A-Train drags the three dead bodies to the scene to paint the Starlighters in a bad light.
• Ryan tells Homelander, to his disappointment, that he doesn’t want to see Butcher die.
• The Deep talks with the octopus, now named Ambrosius, and is love with her.
• Hugh learns that his father has had a stroke. This leads to him reuniting with his mother at the end of the episode.
• Butcher sees visions of Becca, who tells him to bring Ryan back and make good on his promise to her. This prompts him to cut the deal he made with Neuman off.

What happened in The Boys Season 4 Episode 2?

And here’s a recap of Episode 2 for The Boys Season 4:

• A-Train appears in a movie where a coach, played by Will Farrell, attempts to get him off the streets, but A-Train is disinterested in the “white savior” movie.
• Hugh discovers that his mom has power of attorney over his father and angrily storms off.
• Kimiko goes to a therapy session where she is told to confront her past, and she interprets this as going after the Shining Light terrorists.
• Butcher tells The Boys about his condition and is forcibly kicked off the team. Frenchie, Kimiko, and Marvin decide to track down Sister Sage, while Hugh and Annie try to get information from A-Train.
• Ryan is pitched to be a superhero named Homeboy and goes on his first solo save as a test. Sister Sage explains how the pitch is dumb to the annoyance of Ashley. In the elevator, Sister Sage also tells The Deep not to let Ashley talk down to him.
• Butcher forces himself on the team tracking Sister Sage at Truthcon. They follow her at a panel for Firecracker, who drums up a lot of controversies to take down the Starlighter movement. Sister Sage gives Firecracker a test, which she passes, and tells her to meet later. Marvin, Frenchie, and Kimiko follow them and fall into a trap, leading to a fight with Firecracker and a clone-creating Sup. Butcher arrives and saves the trio, while they let Firecracker run off.
• Hugh and Annie track down A-Train. They arrive back at the office to find him there, and to their surprise, he gives them footage that exonerates two Starlighters accused of killing the dead Hometeamers in the first episode.
• Ryan follows through with his first save, and Homelander tells him to throw a thug (really a stunt actor) hard, but Ryan accidentally throws him into a wall. Later, Ryan cries and is distraught about killing someone, but Homelander tells him not to care about humans dying.
• Hugh confronts his mother about her abandoning him when he was young.
• Butcher pleads with Marvin to help him get Ryan away from Homelander before it’s too late.

What happened in The Boys Season 4 Episode 3?

Last but not least, here’s a recap of Episode 3 for The Boys Season 4:

• At a Hometeamer event, Homelander formally welcomes Sister Sage and Firecracker to The Seven.
• Butcher and Joe plans to knock Ryan unconscious and take him to a facility. He bakes cookies with a drug to do so. He chats with Ryan over a The Boys fighting video game. Butcher decides to open up to Ryan about dying, and after a heart-to-heart, he decides against drugging him.
• A guy walks into the Starlighter headquarters believing that they are hiding children in the basement, but Frenchie disarms him.
• Robert Singer tells Victoria Neuman that he plans to take Sups out of political office, and Neuman is forced to agree.
• Kimiko asks for Frenchie’s help to go after a Shining Light terrorist cell. She takes them out rather easily, though Frenchie has an acid trip where he faces his guilt as a murderer. Kimiko decides not to kill a girl she seemingly recognizes, letting her go.
• Sister Sage takes over Ashley’s role as CEO, though she remains on as a figurehead. The Deep is also no longer in charge of Data Analytics.
• Ambrosius tries to convince The Deep to leave The Seven with her and become a superhero in the sea.
• Marvin tries to turn A-Train as an informant. A-Train refuses, but it seems like he will continue to aid The Boys.
• Anika is killed by Homelander after she admits to speaking with Annie a few days ago. This convinces Ashley not to quit her job out of fear that she will die for falling out of line.
• Annie confronts Firecracker at the Vaught Tower and learns that she hates her because of the slander she told about her when they were part of the child pageant circuit.
• At a Vaught ice skating show, Marvin and Hugh follow Neuman to plant a bug on her. Homelander and Sister Sage appear, giving Neuman an offer to kill Singer and become president, in exchange for her removing the anti-Sup department and revealing that she is a Sup. Hugh accidentally gives himself away but is able to escape with assistance by A-Train.
• Hugh has a talk with his mother and she confesses that she left him due to depression and suicidal ideation.
• Butcher tells Joe that he is going to turn Ryan without drugs, but Joe says this method is too slow and that Butcher might die before he can convince Ryan to switch sides.
• The Deep confronts Sister Sage about his firing, but their meeting turns into a movie night and a hot fling between them.
• Homelander is annoyed that Ryan went to see Butcher and his anger leads Ryan to run to his room. He sees multiple reflections in a mirror who convince him to go back to his origins in order to remove his need for love and destroy his humanity.
