Netflix Schedule January 6-12 2025: New TV Shows & Movies Being Added

Netflix’s new TV and movie releases for January 6-12 2025 include My Happy Marriage Season 2 and The Upshaws Part 6.

My Happy Marriage Season 2 drops on Netflix on January 6. It continues the story of Miyo (Reina Ueda) and Kiyoka’s (Kaito Ishikawa) relationship, which continues to blossom, as the couple face new challenges like Kiyoka’s parents and conspirators threatening to harm their dynamic.

January 9 then brings The Upshaws Part 6 to Netflix. This comedy family-drama from Wanda Sykes (who also stars in the series) and Regina Y. Hicks follows Bennie Upshaw, who tries his best to care for and provide for his family while being tormented by his sister-in-law. Mike Epps, Kim Fields, Khali Daniya-Renee Spraggins, Journey Christine, and Jermelle Simon, make up the principal cast.

Also dropping this week on Netflix is Fake Profile Season 2. Set after the events of the first season, it sees Camila (Carolina Miranda) attempt to distance herself from the abusive/toxic Miguel (Rodolfo Salas) and move on with David (Lincoln Palomeque). However, their blossoming relationship gets threatened by a series of ominous murders.

Another title arriving on Netflix this week is Lion. This popular film stars Academy Award nominee Dev Patel as a 30-year-old Indian man Saroo, raised by Australians. He goes on a difficult journey to find his biological family, whom he got separated from in Kolkata when he was 5.

HBO Max Schedule January 6- January 12 2025: New TV Shows & Movies Being Added

HBO Max’s new TV and movie releases for January 6 to January 12 2025 include 7 Little Johnstons Season 15, Kids Baking Championship Season 14, How It Really Happened Season 8, and Holla (2006).

On January 7, How It Really Happened Season 8 drops on HBO Max. This documentary series explores the mysteries and backstories of notorious criminals. While the cases may appear straightforward at first glance, viewers are often surprised to discover that there is much more beneath the surface.

Further, the reality show Kids Baking Championship Season 14 will be available on the platform. It features young bakers engaging in fierce cooking battles under the guidance of Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli. However, completing the challenge to win the grand prize is not a cakewalk.

Also coming out on HBO Max is 7 Little Johnstons Season 15. The reality series explores the lives of the dwarf family, The Johnstons. It highlights their belief in spreading love and working hard to achieve their dreams.

Additionally, the horror drama Holla (2006) will also be available on the platform. The film follows a TV star who becomes stranded at the cabin of Camp Diamond Creek with her friends. As they try to find a way to escape, their situation worsens with the arrival of a mysterious stalker.

Why Tom Holland Avoids the Red Carpet With Zendaya

Most fans admit that Tom Holland and Zendaya are the most adored pair in Hollywood, given their consistent support and affection for one another. However, the Uncharted star once again, with his latest remarks has proved that fans aren’t wrong about their healthy equation. Most recently, he gave a heart-winning answer to why he doesn’t step in with Zendaya on the red carpets of her film premieres.

Here’s what Holland said about not accompanying his rumored girlfriend.

Tom Holland doesn’t join Zendaya because ‘it’s her moment’

Recently, the Spider-Man star answered the question about why he doesn’t walk red carpets with Zendaya on her film premieres and chooses to stay afar.

Speaking to Men’s Health, Tom Holland clarified that he does it intentionally as he doesn’t want to steal her moment and make it about them. “Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” he elaborated.

Holland and Zendaya had been sparking dating rumors since their collaboration on Spider-Man: Homecoming as Peter Parker and MJ, respectively. Since then, they have been subtly teasing their romance by posting each other on social media, making fans suspicious. However, the rumors were put to a halt, when the duo revealed in various interviews that they were just friends.

Albeit, the co-stars’ dating rumors once again resurfaced when they were spotted sharing a kiss inside a car in 2021. Given that Holland and the Euphoria star’s intimate moment wasn’t surrounded by any cameras, many believed that they were dating. (via Page Six) Now that their relationship is official, the duo has consistently demonstrated their couple goals.

Additionally, in the aforementioned interview, Holland disclosed his plans to have children in the future. He revealed that once he has kids, he is going to retire and step away from acting ventures. Moreover, Holland shared he would savor his life being a dad and playing golf. “And I will just disappear off the face of the earth,” he added.

Aside from popular Spider-Man movies, Zendaya and Holland are next set to appear in Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey.

James Gunn on Batman Already Existing in the DCU: ‘We Don’t Need to Hear the Origin Story Again’

Batman made a surprise appearance during the latest episode of the DCU animated series Creature Commandos, and James Gunn recently opened up that when we do meet the Caped Crusader, it’ll be without an origin.

What did James Gunn say about Batman in the DCU?

Speaking with showrunner Dean Lorey in a recent video for Rotten Tomatoes, Gunn opened up about Batman’s appearance, joking that the original cut of the episode had much more Batman. However, much like the upcoming Superman movie, Gunn said it was a great way to show that, in the DCU, Batman “already exists.”

“When they first gave it to me, we saw a lot more Batman [Laughs],” Gunn said. “I would say, ‘I’m not ready to commit to that, I’m not ready to commit to that, I’m not ready to commit to that.’ So I was like, ‘More silhouette!’ It’s a great way to show that Batman does exist.

“He already exists in this universe just like when we come to the Superman movie and we see that Superman already exists and is already known by the people of Metropolis. We don’t need to hear the origin story again. That’s just the way to introduce that Batman is a part of this universe.”

When it comes to Batman and the DCU, Gunn simply said that the character in Creature Commandos is “the DCU Batman,” before professing his love of the character.

“I love Batman. I’ve loved him since I was a little kid. He’s one of my favorite characters,” said Gunn. “We’re going to do great things with him. He’s the most popular superhero in the world and I can’t wait for people to see more of him along with Superman. And together…”
