Edward Scissorhands 4K Release Date Set for Tim Burton Movie’s 35th Anniversary

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced the Edward Scissorhands 4K release date for Tim Burton‘s acclaimed gothic fantasy movie. Johnny Depp led the 1990 romantic drama as the titular artificial humanoid character, while Winona Ryder portrayed teenager Kim Boggs.

“The film remains one of cinema’s most enchanting modern fables. A kindly inventor once created a gentle young man named Edward, but passed away before he could finish his work – leaving Edward with only metal shears for hands,” reads the official synopsis. “Lonely until welcomed into a pastel suburbia by a kind Avon lady, Edward’s story still resonates today with its timeless message: to embrace what makes us different, and to discover that wonder often lies just beyond the unknown.”

When is the Edward Scissorhands 4K release date?

In celebration of its 35th anniversary, a restored version of Edward Scissorhands will be available for purchase on digital and on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc starting on October 28, 2025. In addition, the movie will also receive a hauntingly beautiful SteelBook set, featuring a striking artwork, with Kim’s face reflected in shattered glass on the front and a detailed close-up of Edward’s compelling gaze on the back. This limited-edition set includes both the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray discs.

Academy Award nominee Colin Farrell has opened up about his return in Matt Reeves’ long-awaited DC sequel, The Batman Part II. The movie is still slated to premiere in theaters on October 1, 2027, more than five years after the first installment was released.

What was Colin Farrell’s The Batman Part II update?

During a recent interview with THR, Farrell confirmed that he had already read the screenplay for The Batman Part II, which was co-written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin. He admitted that his appearance in the sequel will be much shorter compared to the first installment.

“I’ve got an even smaller role in this one,” he said. “But I’m OK with that…I’ve read the script, from start to finish, and I can’t say much about it. But it’s deeper, scarier, the stakes are bigger. I’m really excited to see it.”

For his leading performance in the HBO miniseries The Penguin, Farrell won an Emmy Award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television. Despite the show’s critical success, HBO and DC Studios haven’t made any announcements about its potential future.

The Batman Part II will be directed by Reeves, who co-wrote the screenplay with Tomlin, based on the DC characters created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane. Further details about its plot and new characters are still being kept under wraps. The Twilight Saga star Robert Pattinson will be reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/The Batman, along with Andy Serkis as Alfred and Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon. Production is expected to start at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London, UK, on January 1, 2026.

Warner Archive has recently begun releasing film collections highlighting some of the best actors from past generations, and now Greta Garbo receives the honor. The Swedish actress’s 4-film collection Blu-ray brings four of her celebrated performances together, ranging from 1930s Anna Christie to 1939’s Ninotchka. Each classic film has been lovingly restored to look as good as possible, and this collection is a great entry point for fans to check out the silver screen legend.

“The beauty. The passion. The mystique. The legend. Four of Greta Garbo’s most beloved classics are gathered in this treasured collection: Anna Christie (1930), her first sound film, adapted from the great Eugene O’Neill play in two versions, both English and German; Camille, Garbo stars with Robert Taylor in George Cukor’s timeless love story; Ninotchka, Garbo’s landmark romantic comedy directed by Ernst Lubitsch; and Queen Christina, which reunited Garbo with John Gilbert, directed by Rouben Mamoulian,” says the official description.

The earliest film in the Greta Garbo 4-Film Collection Blu-ray is 1930’s Anna Christie, which was the first talkie the actress starred in. It was entertainingly marketed with the slogan “Garbo talks!” and the romantic drama serves as a great entry point, as Garbo received a Best Actress nomination for her titular role. Meanwhile, the historical drama Queen Christina is Garbo’s fourth and final collaboration with John Gilbert. Garbo’s best performance comes in 1936’s Camille, which saw her earn her third Best Actress nomination, and it’s a wonderfully shot romantic tragedy by George Cukor. Finally, her penultimate performance in the comedy movie Ninotchka rounds out the collection.

All four of these films are the same as the previous Warner Archive releases. That means the films have received 4K scans and restoration, although not all of these have great source materials available. Anna Christie is the roughest of the bunch, as its audio can be hard to parse at times. Thankfully, the rest of the bunch are mostly great, with Queen Christina being the standout. That film looks particularly gorgeous, and this transfer really does the production design justice.

Despite the name of the collection, there are actually five films starring Garbo here, as you get both the English and German versions of Anna Christie. This is the most notable bonus feature included, as it features several cast differences and even a totally different director. It’s an interesting watch to spot the differences, although not as much restoration has taken place compared to the main films. Other bonuses across the four discs include MGM Parade episodes on Garbo, the 1921 silent film version of Camille, some bonus cartoons, and a 54-minute radio version of Anna Christie performed by Joan Crawford. There are plenty of special features to dig into, even if the quality isn’t as great.

Greta Garbo 4-Film Collection Blu-ray Review: Final Verdict

If you don’t already own these movies individually, then the Greta Garbo 4-Film Collection Blu-ray is an easy recommendation to film buffs looking to broaden their knowledge of the Swedish-American actress. While she was famously reclusive, there’s no doubt that Garbo shone on-screen. She remains one of our most interesting actresses, and this is a great introduction to her work.

Disney Plus’ new TV and movie release schedule for September 28 to October 5, 2025, includes Little Angel (Seasons 1-6), SuperKitties (Season 3), The Balloonist, and The Murky Stream.

On September 30, Little Angel (Seasons 1-6) drops on Disney+. The animated series showcases important preschool lessons for toddlers through nursery rhymes and songs. The lessons include letters, numbers, social skills, and other basic life lessons.

Further, SuperKitties (Season 3) premieres on the streaming platform. It chronicles the lives of four adorable kittens, Sparks, Ginny, Bitsy, and Bunny. They often end up evolving into SuperKitties to stand tall against every trouble.

Also coming to Disney+ is the film, The Balloonist. It focuses on Gaby, whose life takes a turn when a hot-air balloon pilot ends up crashing on the top of her chicken coop. This leads to a family conflict, with Gaby confronting the arrogant balloonist and her troubled past.

Additionally, The Murky Stream will be made available on the streaming giant. The series witnesses the clear Gyeonggang River turning into a dull stream in Joseon. This ends up connecting the fates of Siyul, who is dealing with a secretive past, Choi Eun, an aspiring merchant, and Jung Chun, an aspiring upright official.

Disney Gives Fans Major Reason to See Avatar: The Way of Water in Theaters Again

Moviegoers who are going to attend the limited screenings of Avatar 2 will be treated to a surprise sneak peek of the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash movie. James Cameron‘s Avatar: The Way of Water is officially heading back to theaters for one week only, starting on October 3, 2025.

What is attached to the Avatar: The Way of Water rerelease?

According to Variety, 20th Century Studios is releasing three different clips from Avatar: Fire and Ash during the theatrical rerelease of Avatar: The Way of Water. However, the audience won’t be able to watch all the clips at once. To offer a unique viewing experience, each screening will only play one of the three clips. Fans who want to watch all three sneak peek videos will have to attend the screening multiple times.

The 2022 movie currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 453 reviews. During its initial theatrical run, the sequel shattered box office records by becoming the third highest-grossing movie of all time with a worldwide gross of over $2.3 billion.

As for Avatar: Fire and Ash, it is once again directed by Cameron, who co-wrote the screenplay with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The ensemble cast includes returning stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, Edie Falco, and more. Cameron previously said that the upcoming sequel will explore “different cultures from those I have already shown. The fire will be represented by the ‘Ash People.’ I want to show the Na’vi from another angle because, so far, I have only shown their good sides.”

Netflix Renews Hit Show for Season 2 After Just 1 Week

Netflix has renewed a hit animated comedy show just one week after its premiere.

Haunted Hotel is a new adult animated comedy horror series created by Matt Roller. It officially premiered on the Netflix streaming platform one week ago on Friday, September 19, 2025. Netflix is seemingly happy with how the show is doing, as Haunted Hotel has now been renewed for a second season.

A premiere date for Haunted Hotel Season 2 has not yet been set. Titmouse will serve as the studio, while Roller, Dan Harmon, Chris McKenna, Steve Levy, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina serve as executive producers. Eric Hayes is the supervising director.

“A single mother of two struggles to run a haunted hotel with the help of her estranged brother, who is now one of the ghosts haunting the hotel and thinks the other ghosts have some pretty good ideas,” the logline for Season 1 reads.

The show’s voice cast includes Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides, and Jimmi Simpson.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Netflix and an amazingly talented cast and crew to bring to life the stories of the dead, the evil, and the struggling hospitality workers at the Undervale Hotel,” Roller said, via Netflix Tudum, in a statement.

The Beekeeper 2 Gets Major Update, Logo Revealed for Jason Statham Movie

Miramax‘s upcoming The Beekeeper 2 movie has received a major update regarding the action thriller sequel’s current status. This comes over a year after the first installment was released in theaters, which grossed more than $162 million at the box office.

What is the new update for The Beekeeper 2?

On Instagram, Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto confirmed that production on Jason Statham‘s The Beekeeper 2 has finally started. In his post, he also shared a clapperboard from the set, featuring the first look at the sequel’s official logo.

Tjahjanto is directing The Beekeeper 2 from a screenplay written by Kurt Wimmer. Besides Statham, Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons will also be reprising his role as Wallace Westwyld. Joining them is Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi, whose character is still being kept under wraps. In addition to leading the cast, Statham is also producing the movie through his Punch Palace Productions banner, along with Wimmer and Chris Long. It will be distributed and produced by Amazon MGM Studios, with Miramax financing the project.

Tjahjanto is no stranger to the action genre, as he has previously directed Indonesian action movies such as 2016’s Headshot, 2018’s The Night Comes for Us, 2022’s The Big 4, and last year’s The Shadow Strays. Before The Beekeeper 2, he recently directed the Bob Odenkirk-led movie Nobody 2, which is a sequel to the 2021 action thriller.

The first movie also starred Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, and Phylicia Rashad. It centered around Statham’s Adam as he seeks revenge for the death of his friend and kind-hearted landlady, who fell victim to a massive phishing scam. Since its debut, the film has received generally positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. It currently holds a Popcornmeter rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.

New DCU Superman Movie Spin-off Short Being Released Next Week

A new DCU short movie featuring Superman’s Krypto arrives on HBO Max next week.

Krypto made his official DCU debut in DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Superman movie, which was written and directed by James Gunn. That movie is now available to stream on HBO Max.

Following the release of Superman, DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation put out the first installment of Krypto Saves the Day! last month. Krypto Saves the Day! is a four-part series of animated shorts that sees the superpowered canine use his superpowers to fix everyday problems in the city of Metropolis.

When is the Superman DCU short movie being released?

HBO Max has now announced that the next installment of the series, Krypto Saves the Day: Halloween Haunt, will be available to watch on the streaming platform on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Fresh off his star-making performance in Superman, Krypto returns in a series of original comedic animated shorts,” the synopsis for the series reads. “Krypto Saves the Day! brings the caped canine’s brand of heroic hijinks to everyday life in Metropolis. Written by Ana Nogueira and based on the 2021-22 comic book miniseries titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, the cast of Supergirl includes Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, and Jason Momoa as Lobo.

The trailer highlights some of the movie’s terrifying sequences from the newest sequel’s six short horror segments.

The six segments included in V/H/S/Halloween are Diet Phantasm, directed by Bryan M. Ferguson; Fun Size, directed by Casper Kelly; Home Haunt, directed by Micheline Pitt-Norman and R.H. Norman; Kidprint, directed by Alex Ross Perry; Ut Supra Sic Infra, directed by Paco Plaza; and Coochie Coochie Coo, directed by Anna Zlokovic.

The newest installment is produced by Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Derek Dauchy, Josh Goldbloom, Michael Schreiber, and Brad Miska, with composer Nick Chuba providing the music. The horror franchise first started in 2012. Since then, it has featured up-and-coming directors helming short horror films in a VHS style. Notable directors who have contributed to the franchise include Adam Wingard, Ti West, The Radio Silence team, Timo Tjahjanto, and Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead.

The Long Walk’s David Jonsson & Cooper Hoffman to Reunite for New A24 Movie

The Long Walk stars David Jonsson and Cooper Hoffman will reunite for a new A24 movie.

Lionsgate’s The Long Walk is currently playing in United States theaters. Directed by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’s Francis Lawrence, the dystopian survival thriller movie is based on the 1979 novel of the same name by Stephen King. Jonsson plays Peter McVries in the film, while Hoffman, who is the son of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, stars as Raymond “Ray” Garraty.

What do we know about the new A24 movie with The Long Walk stars?

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Jonsson and Hoffman are now in talks to reunite for a new A24 drama movie titled The Chaperones.

“The script sees a drug dealer and his two slacker buddies hired to transport a troubled teen across the country,” the article notes.

The Chaperones is being helmed by India Donaldson, who made her feature film directorial debut with 2024’s Good One. That movie, which stars Lily Collias and James Le Gros, screened at the Sundance Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and more.

The screenplay comes from Sebastian Black, while Adam Wyatt Tate will serve as an executive producer. Plan B and Icki Eneo Arlo are producing the movie, which is expected to begin filming later this fall in Ohio and New Mexico. A release date for The Chaperones has not yet been set.

In addition to starring in The Long Walk, Jonsson is known for playing Andy Carradine in 2024’s Alien: Romulus, while his filmography also includes 2023’s Rye Lane and 2024’s Bonhoeffer. Additionally, he plays Augustus “Gus” Sackey in HBO’s Industry and has been in other television shows such as Endeavour, Deep State, and The Road Trip.

Hoffman, meanwhile, made his acting debut in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza, which was released in 2021. He has since appeared in 2023’s Wildcat, 2024’s Old Guy, and 2024’s Saturday Night, while he’ll soon be seen in Maude Apatow’s Poetic License and Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex.

Nicolas Cage, Alice Eve, & More Lead Stacked Cast of New World War II Movie

Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage is officially reuniting with Con Air director Simon West in the upcoming World War II spy action-adventure movie titled Fortitude. The story is based on the remarkable true story of British Intelligence operatives using unprecedented strategic operations that fool Nazi leadership, ultimately changing the course of World War II. Production has already started in London.

“With historical consultation from Joshua Levine (Dunkirk, Blitz), the film follows the brilliance of British Army officers Dudley Clarke and Thomas Argyll ‘TAR’ Robertson, who deployed an elaborate web of deception campaigns, including fictitious armies, fake military equipment, and a network of double agents to mislead Nazi Intelligence,” reads the official synopsis. “Among them was Yugoslavian playboy Dusko Popov, a real-life double agent. He laid the blueprint for James Bond, turning real-life espionage into legend, which ultimately inspired Ian Fleming’s novels.”

Who is joining Nicolas Cage in the new World War II movie?

Besides Cage, West has also tapped Matthew Goode (Imitation Game), Ed Skrein (Jurassic World: Rebirth), Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness), Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon), Jordi Mollà (Mobland), Art Malik (True Lies), Lukas Haas (Inception), Adrian Topol (Franz + Polina), Emilio Sakraya (Sixty Minutes), Paul Anderson (Peaky Blinders), and Ben Kingsley (Ghandi) to join the cast of Fortitude.

West is directing the movie from a screenplay written by Simon Afram (Lear Rex, Wilde Salomé). It is produced by Afram, Georgette Turner (Edge of Tomorrow, Wonder Woman), Reza Roohi (ATL Hustle), and Edward Kahl (Queen of Manhattan). Executive producers are Bianca Goodloe and David Scaramanga.

“We are excited to bring together such a remarkable ensemble. Their chemistry and depth, paired with West’s direction, elevate this story into something truly gripping and unforgettable,” Afram said in a statement.

Superman Deleted Scene Features Unseen Krypto Moment in DCU Movie

A new deleted scene from Superman has been released.

Superman is the DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures blockbuster movie that was released in United States theaters this past July. Written and directed by James Gunn, it stars David Corenswet as the titular superhero, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

What happens in the Superman deleted scene?

Shared by Collider, the Superman deleted scene sees Edi Gathegi’s Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific on a mission to locate Krypto during the second half of the movie. He finds him tearing apart a pet store and then lures the pup away with treats, only for Krypto to then bite Mr. Terrific’s leg while the two of them are jumping up and down.

Some of this footage was used in a Milk Bone commercial promoting the DCU movie, but that footage didn’t show Krypto biting Mr. Terrific’s leg.

Jason Momoa Gives Updates on Fast & Furious 11, ‘Insane’ Street Fighter Movie

Aquaman star Jason Momoa has opened up about his next action fantasy movie in the form of Legendary Entertainment’s live-action Street Fighter movie. The project will be based on Capcom’s popular video game series. Momoa is no stranger to video game adaptations, as he most recently starred in Warner Bros. Pictures’ blockbuster adventure comedy A Minecraft Movie.

What did Jason Momoa say about the Street Fighter movie?

During a recent interview on The Playlist’s Bingeworthy podcast, Momoa teased his performance as Blanka by expressing his confidence in the Street Fighter movie’s creative team and cast. The green-skinned Blanka is described as a feral man from the Brazilian jungle. The character first appeared in Capcom’s Street Fighter II game in 1991.

“There’s no one better to play Blanka, so that’s why I’m doing it,” Momoa said. “We’ll do what the audience would like to see — practical, CG — we’re gonna do our best. The cast is insane. My son and I play it; it’s the only game I played.”

The upcoming Street Fighter movie is being directed by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip) from a screenplay written by Dalan Musson. The game follows an ensemble of fighters, one of which is Chun-Li, as they battle it out in a one-on-one global fighting tournament. The ensemble cast will also include Andrew Koji (Snake Eyes, Warrior) as Ryu, Noah Centineo (The Recruit, Warfare) as Ken, former WWE champ Roman Reigns (Hobbs & Shaw) as Akuma, Callina Liang (Presence) as Chun-Li, Orville Peck as Vega, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, and more.

In addition, when asked about the possibility of reprising his role as Dante in the next Fast & Furious movie, the Dune actor admitted that he hasn’t received any script for the project.

“I would love to come back and play, man. People all over the world love that character—it’s crazy. But I got no script, so not that soon,” Momoa shared.

Fast X: Part 2 will once again be directed by Louis Leterrier. While Fast X was initially going to kick off a new trilogy of Fast and Furious films, Vin Diesel previously confirmed in February 2024 that the next installment will be a “grand finale.” There have been reports that the story may be a “throwback” to the original Fast and Furious movie, which could feature a different villain than Dante.

Street Fighter debuts on October 16, 2026.

Jared Padalecki & Leighton Meester to Lead Netflix’s Bodyguard Movie

Former teen drama show stars Jared Padalecki (Gilmore Girls) and Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) have reportedly entered negotiations to portray the leading roles in Netflix‘s untitled romance movie. Production on the untitled project is expected to begin this December in Calgary, Alberta. At the moment, it has no director, writer, or release date attached to it yet.

What is Jared Padalecki and Leighton Meester’s Netflix movie about?

According to Nexus Point News, the movie will be based on author Katherine Center’s 2022 novel The Bodyguard. Meester will play “a bodyguard assigned to protect a famous movie star (Padalecki). To maintain his cover, she must pose as his girlfriend while spending the holidays at his family’s ranch in Montana — where chaos inevitably ensues.”

Should the deal push through, this would mark the Supernatural alum’s first original movie with the streamer, after briefly reprising his role as Dean in 2016’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life miniseries. Meanwhile, Meester has already worked with Netflix in the 2022 thriller movie The Weekend Away. She also recently joined the cast of Nobody Wants This Season 2, which is led by Meester’s husband, Adam Brody, and Kristen Bell. Just like Padalecki and Meester, Brody and Bell also appeared in popular coming-of-age shows The O.C. and Veronica Mars, respectively.

Padalecki appeared in last year’s Fire Country series for a guest-starring role as Camden. He will next be seen in the final season of The Boys, reuniting him with Supernatural co-stars Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins. As for Meester, besides appearing in Nobody Wants This Season 2, she will also star in Rachel Sennott’s upcoming HBO comedy series I Love LA.

The Angry Birds Movie 3 Gets Earlier Release Date as MrBeast Joins Cast

The Angry Birds Movie 3 has scored an earlier release date.

Sony Pictures released the animated The Angry Birds Movie in 2016. That was followed by a sequel, The Angry Birds Movie 2, in 2019. A third movie is in the works and was previously dated for January 29, 2027.

When is the new release date for The Angry Birds Movie 3?

The Angry Birds Movie 3 now arrives almost a month earlier than expected, as Paramount Pictures has bumped up its release date to December 23, 2026. This means that it will now be released in the same month as Avengers: Doomsday, Dune 3, the next Jumanji movie, Violent Night 2, and Robert Eggers’ Werwulf.

The move does, however, allow for some more space between Angry Birds and Ice Age 6, also known as Ice Age: Boiling Point, as that movie currently has a February 5, 2027, release date from 20th Century Studios.

Additionally, MrBeast and Salish Matter have joined the vocal cast of The Angry Birds Movie 3, while it’s also been announced that Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox will reprise their respective roles as Hal and Bubbles.

The cast further includes Jason Sudeikis as Red, Josh Gad as Chuck, Rachel Bloom as Silver, Danny McBride as Bomb, Emma Myers, Keke Palmer, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Marcello Hernandez, Walker Scobell, Sam Richardson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, James Austin Johnson, and Psalm West.

The screenplay comes from Thurop Van Orman, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Toru Nakahara, John Cohen, Dan Chuba, and Carla Connor serve as producers. John Rice is the director.

The first Angry Birds Movie made approximately $352.3 million at the global box office, while The Angry Birds Movie 2 brought in around $152.8 million. The first film is currently available to stream on Peacock, while the sequel is streaming on Tubi.
