Star Wars Actor Turns Down Ahsoka Season 2, Here’s Why
A star on the Disney+ series Star Wars: Ahsoka has revealed that she won’t be coming back for the second season of the series.
Star Claudia Black, who plays Mother Klothow, revealed that she wouldn’t be returning to the series for its second season. Speaking to Bleeding Cool in a recent interview, Black revealed that Disney is “structuring things differently,” and noted that she left the show due to a dispute in pay.
Why won’t Claudia Black return for Ahsoka Season 2?
“I’m going to be transparent,” said Black. “They picked up season two, picked me up with it, and then Disney, which is structuring things differently these days, could not pay me what I needed to be paid as a single mother to keep all my responsibilities going at home in Los Angeles, because they were filming in London. It was not something that they could make happen, and therefore, I had to bow out for season two. It was very sad for me.”
In the series, Mother Klothow was one of the Great Mothers, one of three Dathomirian Nightsisters who were allies of Grand Admiral Thrawn. The trio were practitioners of dark magic, and appeared toward the end of the first season of the show.
Ahsoka was written and executive produced by Dave Filoni, best known for his work on fan-favorite Star Wars animated shows The Clone Wars and Rebels. Set within the same timeline as The Mandalorian, Season 1 revolved around the titular Jedi’s quest across the galaxy as she investigates an emerging threat following the fall of the Empire.
The show also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, Wes Chatham as Captain Enoch, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, and David Tennant as the voice of Huyang, with Rory McCann replacing the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll in Season 2.

007: New Favored James Bond Actor Emerges for Denis Villeneuve Movie
A new rumor suggests that an actor may officially be in the front running to be the next James Bond for Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming movie.
Who is rumored to be playing the next James Bond?
According to a new report from The Telegraph, rising star Callum Turner is “strongly rumored” to be the actor in line to succeed Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. The Telegraph’s report notes that oddsmakers at William Hill have pegged Turner as the new favorite to be Bond, ahead of stars like Henry Cavill, Theo James, and Harris Dickinson.
While there seems to be no real concrete reason for the shift, The Telegraph points to the fact that Turner was recently seen on holiday with his partner, Dua Lipa, at a resort at Oracabessa Bay, the former estate of author Ian Fleming. Turner is best known for his roles in the Fantastic Beasts movies, where he played Newt Scamander. He’s also starred in 2025’s Eternity, The Boys in the Boat, and more.
Currently, little is known about Villeneuve’s upcoming James Bond movie. The film will be written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, and will be the first Bond movie made since Amazon gained full control of the franchise.
The new agreement between Amazon and longtime Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson sees Amazon MGM Studios and the duo forming a new joint venture house to house the intellectual property rights for the Bond franchise. The next film in the series remains mostly mysterious, but will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, and written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
The three parties (Amazon, Wilson, and Broccoli) will remain co-owners of the Bond series, but now Amazon MGM Studios will have creative control, something that Broccoli and Wilson had retained before. Prior to the announcement, both Wilson and Broccoli had been known as fiercely protective over the franchise, but in a statement on the move, Wilson noted that he was stepping back to focus more on art and charitable projects, while Broccoli said she would be focusing on other projects now.

Harry Potter’s Tom Felton Talks New Sci-Fi Movie Altered, Helping Young Actors
ComingSoon spoke with Altered star Tom Felton about his new sci-fi movie, which is out now in select theaters and on digital. Felton discussed the film’s sci-fi world, what drew him to the project, and how being on Harry Potter helped him look out for younger co-stars on set.
“After the world is ravaged by nuclear war, the few remaining survivors turn to genetic enhancement as the way forward. When a small segment of the population can’t keep up, they are forced to fight back. One of these rebels is Leon (Tom Felton), a proud, quick-witted, and talented inventor, who crafts intricate mechanical devices in his workshop that help the unmodified (aka “specials”) like himself pass as “genetics.” Leon also looks after a spunky Chloe (Elizaveta Bugulova), an orphaned teenager whose parents previously ran the workshop. Felton shines as Leon with versatility, charisma, and depth in a leading role unlike anything we’ve seen from him before, while young breakout Bugulova will turn heads with her feisty and commanding on-screen presence. The film also boasts a great supporting cast, including Richard Brake (Game of Thrones) and Aggy K. Adams (Undercover Hooligan),” says the official description.
Tyler Treese: Altered was really fun, and it has a lot of interesting ideas about genetic enhancements and the divide that they can cause in society. What about Altered really attracted you to this project?
Tom Felton: Well, there’s so many different strings to its bow, really. The first being the cool world that we get to create this sort of slightly dystopian future, had we taken a few different courses of action in our human world. So, that’s obviously a very cool thing for anyone that loves sci-fi like I do. You get to play a different version or an enhanced version, in some cases, in the film or a lesser enhanced version.
So I always loved the human element of that. But then put that with a really great story about this young whiz kid who really has not had much go right in his life. For him to have this opportunity to step out of that and actually do something for the world, greater than just for himself. It’s a classic old story, really, but just told in a completely new way. So as soon as I grasped that and understood that, it was pretty easy for me to say yes.
This is a pretty interesting performance for you as well because the first 30 minutes of this film, you’re in a wheelchair. How was that experience of having restricted movement and just acting from a wheelchair for quite a few scenes?
Yeah, definitely. I mean, the physical element of the character definitely was a new thing for me and a challenge. Like you say, half of it, he’s wheelchair-bound, and the other half, he is a crime-fighting kickass superhero with a suit that can do some very, very cool stuff. I think the wheelchair, I could practice quite a lot in my in my hotel down the lobby. The suit, I think, I thought was gonna be a lot trickier to figure out. It’s an incredible suit. They built this amazing, like 18-piece carbon fiber super lightweight suit. So that was really cool getting to learn how to use that in the best way possible while keeping us all safe, while also, you know, picking up cars and throwing them around and stuff.
Yeah, there’s a lot of fun action scenes once you get the super suit. Obviously, Harry Potter, you’re not really getting the hand-to-hand combat there. So, had you done many action scenes before? How was it learning those?
Yeah, no, I hadn’t really. There certainly was not much the wand work really helped me with on this. I mean, I have done quite a few difficult physical things, whether it’s riding horses, wearing chain mail, flying in the air on wires, and stuff like that. But nothing like this. So much of it was practical.
Timo, our director, he’s a big, big sci-fi super nerd if you will. He won’t mind me saying that. And he loves everything to be practical. So there was very little green screen, very little changing it afterwards. He wanted everything to feel real on the set, which makes it so much easier for the actors then to believe that what they’re doing is real.
And he was very, very particular about all the small little details that these films have that make such a big difference to the audience. He was always really, really on that. So, again, that really helped take the burden off of doing that. It just made it a lot more fun to be the character.
You might be underselling it, calling him a sci-fi super nerd. He started out doing Star Trek parody movies in Finland. It’s wild to see his growth as a director and what he is doing now. What stood out about collaborating with Timo?
Tom Felton: Well, just that he knew the world. He knew the world so much. You know, after sitting down and talking it through with him for a few hours, I couldn’t help but ask, “So what does it look like? Show me exactly what the suit looks like? Show me exactly.”
And I was expecting him to sort of explain them to me, but instead he pulled out like a thousand different images up there from his laptop and drawings that he’d done, not just of the suit, but of the world itself. He was always really, really passionate on set about bringing in all these old knick-knacks from our world, from computing things to biological things.
Like in Leon’s lab, for example, he didn’t just make a workshop. There were details way way in the back of the set, which he probably wouldn’t have picked up on. But he did, so it would drive him crazy if there was anything that wasn’t perfect. So if you have someone with a vision like that, as in so strong visually, but also he wrote the script as well, so naturally he knows the characters better than anyone. That was really helpful.
I wanted to ask you about the young actress, Liza Bugulova, who plays Chloe in the film. You obviously know what it’s like being young and in really important scenes of a movie. So how was it being on that other side of working so closely with a young actor and kind of being in that mentor role where you’re the adult on set now?
That was a weird one. That was a bit of a weird one. “Hang on a sec. Wait, what? I’m the old guy? That’s not right.”
It was nice, it was nice that Lizzie was incredibly talented. She knew the script better than I did. She corrected me on lines that I got wrong, I think. So she’s clearly a young superstar in the making. But yeah, it was nice, I suppose, and I never thought about it like a parental role or the senior or whatever it may be.
Lots of things that I have learned over the years on the sets as a kid I got to put into practice as far as looking out for everyone, looking out for her, and making sure that everyone’s having a good time and that we don’t rush things and that everyone feels like they’re in a good place before we before we roll cameras. So that was really nice. She’s got an incredibly wicked sense of humor, which obviously helps.
You also share scenes with Richard Brake, who has a very interesting role. I love watching him throughout the years. What stood out about him as a scene partner?
I think we only met briefly the day before, so we had to sort of talk quickly about the relationship between the characters and working with someone like that. He is such a pro anyway, but also someone who doesn’t want to just turn up and do it. He wants to do what I would do, which is sort of dive deep into the backstory that even if we don’t see it, we can feel it.
Then on the actual day itself, well, he’s actually a lovely man in real life. He’s rather charming and debonair, shall I say, but quite the opposite on screen. He has a certain viciousness with his eyes, and he can say very little in it, and it can mean a lot.
So yeah, I just enjoyed that element. It makes working against him just very easy because It’s a lot of reacting to his performance rather than having to completely invent your own outta nothing.

Stranger Things Creators on Whether El & [Spoiler]’s Powers Are Identical
The Duffer brothers are shedding new light on the evolving power structure in Stranger Things Season 5, addressing questions around a central character’s connection to Eleven’s abilities. As the season intensifies, their revelations offer a clearer picture of how these powers differ, where they come from, and what they might mean going forward.
Duffer brothers reveal how Will and Eleven’s powers are different
The Duffer brothers explained in a Variety interview that in Stranger Things Season 5, Will’s powers differ fundamentally from Eleven’s. Ross Duffer stated, “It’s different in that he’s able to channel Vecna’s powers,” adding, “the powers aren’t within him.” Ross continued, “He’s able to channel these powers from Vecna and use it, sort of puppeteering.”
Matt Duffer clarified, “He taps into the hive mind, and then he can manipulate anything within the hive.” Unlike Eleven, whose abilities are innate, Will’s powers originate externally through his connection to Vecna’s hive mind.
These powers are dependent on proximity. Matt Duffer said, “If he’s not close to the hive mind, he’s not able to access or tap it,” and confirmed, “Had he not been taken to the Upside Down… never would’ve happened.”
Ross Duffer added, “We’ve been talking about Will having powers for as long as I can really remember.” In Season 2, Will unknowingly accessed a “dark version” of these powers, connected to Vecna’s mind but unable to use them intentionally.
During the climax of Episode 4, Vecna levitates Will and taunts him: “You broke so easily. You showed me what was possible.” When Will recalls personal memories, he unlocks his abilities, halting the Demogorgons and controlling them telepathically. He sees through their eyes and kills them by snapping their limbs. The final shot shows Will wiping his nosebleed, similar to Eleven’s iconic gesture.
To convey this emotional shift, the Duffer brothers added flashback sequences. Ross Duffer said, “It’s such an internal shift for Will, we needed to be able to show that visually.” Matt Duffer explained the use of younger actors over face-replacement due to budget and realism. “It would’ve been extremely expensive, and also look creepy.” They emphasized this arc reflected Will’s growth and self-acceptance.

Why Beyond the Gates Isn’t Airing New Episodes for 3 Days
Viewers tuning in for the upcoming chapter of Beyond the Gates may be surprised to find that the soap is absent from its regular time slot this week. CBS, which has quietly modified its primetime schedule, has introduced a three-day hiatus that has fans speculating about the reason for this abrupt change and when the narrative will resume.
Here’s everything we know about why Beyond the Gates isn’t airing new episodes.
Why no new episodes of Beyond the Gates are airing on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Beyond the Gates won’t air new episodes on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday during a brief scheduling break, but the show will return soon.
CBS will air no new episodes during the mid-week period because the network plans to re-broadcast the “Articulates Reunion” episodes from August 1 and 2, 2025, on Wednesday, November 26, and Thursday, November 27. These reruns fill the time slot that Thanksgiving-related programming changes usually affect. Networks typically air popular past episodes during holiday weeks, a strategy that keeps viewers engaged while allowing for a lighter broadcast schedule.
On Friday, November 28, CBS will fully preempt Beyond the Gates for CBS Sports coverage, creating the final disruption of the week. The combination of holiday programming and sports events interrupts the regular broadcast lineup. Even so, fans won’t have to wait long because new episodes will resume on Monday, December 1, 2025. The series will return to its usual schedule once Thanksgiving week ends.
With Thanksgiving week bringing its usual reruns and preemptions, Beyond the Gates is taking a brief pause from its regular schedule. These holiday adjustments are common for daytime television, making room for seasonal specials and events. Until then, fans will have to wait a little longer for new episodes to return.
Until then, catch up on all previous episodes of Beyond the Gates streaming now on CBS and Paramount+.

Why Justin Lin Left Fast X Revealed, Vin Diesel Movie Had Wildly Different Ending
The reason why Justin Lin left Fast X has been revealed.
Fast X is the tenth film in the main Fast & Furious series. The movie is directed by Louis Leterrier, while the screenplay comes from Lin and Dan Mazeau.
Prior to Leterrier, the movie was going to be directed by Lin, who helmed a number of other movies in The Fast and The Furious franchise, including 2011’s Fast Five. Lin, however, left the project after filming had already begun due to creative differences.
Why did Justin Lin leave Fast X?
Per IndieWire, a new, unauthorized book titled Welcome to the Family documents the history of the Fast and Furious franchise. An expert from this novel highlights what happened on the set of Fast X and why a disagreement over the film’s ending led Lin to walk away.
“According to several high-level sources in the production, Lin had hit his breaking point over the steadily increasing creative tensions with [Vin] Diesel, as well as difficulties with the star’s sister/producer, Samantha Vincent, who often acted as Diesel’s emissary. A key source of discord centered around the script and its ending. While a cliffhanger was always part of the Fast X plan, several drafts of the screenplay also hinged on a jaw-dropping twist in which Dante is revealed to be the true father of Little Brian.
“Some members of the film’s team felt that the late-game turn was the perfect, if deeply dark, way for Dom to reckon with the concept he held most dear: family. The proud patriarch of the Fast clan would have to put his life on the line for a child who wasn’t biologically his own — who was in fact the offspring of his most feared nemesis. Others, including Diesel, felt differently.
“Universal was said to be extremely hands on during the entire process, and reportedly also not keen on Lin’s vision for the final action set-piece, an especially over-the-top sequence that involved Dante using a giant excavator-like machine to wreak havoc…After a heated closed-door meeting on Saturday, April 23, Lin reached his limit, threw up his hands, and quit.”
Second-unit director and cinematographer Alexander Witt further said of Lin’s plan for the final action set-piece, “It’s difficult to describe, but this machine eats things…the bad guy goes down, gets into this machine, comes out and starts eating cars, and it’s like a Transformers movie. It was totally out of context with the movie, I thought.”

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’s Matthew Lillard on Potential 3rd Movie, Scream 7 Reactions | Interview
ComingSoon Senior Editor Brandon Schreur spoke to Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 star Matthew Lillard about the horror sequel movie. Lillard discussed what fans can expect from William Afton in the new movie, their plans to make Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, how he got involved with Scream 7, and more.
“One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza,” the official synopsis reads. “The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first-ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends. But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.”
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 will be released in United States theaters on December 5, 2025, by Universal Pictures.
Brandon Schreur: So we’re here to talk about Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which I’m so excited to see. I saw that first one back in theaters when it came out, and I thought it was a lot of fun. Everything that we’ve seen from the second one has me pumped; it looks like we’re getting more of the same thing. It looks great. To start, I’m wondering if there was anything about Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 that really surprised you. You got the call saying they wanted you to come back, and then you got the script for the first time. Was there anything that stood out to you, or how did you react, to where they decided to take this sequel?
Matthew Lillard: Yeah, I think that even in early iterations of the script, the amount of action, jump scares, set pieces — like, the first movie was great. I think they did a good job at capturing the lore and luring the fans into seeing the movie. But the reality is that, as the second movie plays out, very early on in the film, the movie starts to take off. And, once it goes, it goes for forever. I just think that it’s fast, it’s scary, and it’s got big set pieces. The animatronics are deeply involved. I think people are going to freaking love it.
You’re speaking my language. The trailers for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 have given us some idea of what to expect. We know there’s some new characters, some new animatronics, and all that. But we haven’t really seen much, or maybe any, of your character in these trailers. I know there’s probably some stuff you can’t say, but can you give us some idea of what we can expect to see from William in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2?
Yeah, I will say this. Don’t hold your breath to seeing a lot of William Afton. Like Star Wars or like Harry Potter, Voldemort or Darth Vader, they both sort of show up later in the series. So, unfortunately for me, I don’t have a huge part in it. I do think the stuff I get to do is fantastic. I love it. Our hope is that we get to do three films. That’s always been the plan. Everything is dependent on how the movie does in theaters. Like, if it does well, there’s a good chance, obviously — Hollywood chases big hits. So we’re hoping for another big hit, so that we can go off and make the third movie. Which, at the end of the day, will be more William Afton vs. Mike. So we’ll see how it goes.
I hope it happens, that sounds amazing. Jumping back to that first movie, it was such an interesting case just because I feel like there were so many boxes that movie had to check. I mean, it’s a video game movie, so you’ve got to appease fans of the video games. It’s a horror movie, so people are expecting something scary. But it’s also not like a Lars von Trier horror movie; it’s comedic, there’s humor in it, and it’s a fun time. Can you tell us what to expect, as far as the tone goes, going into Five Nights at Freddy’s 2? Do you think it’s scarier than the first, or is there more humor?
I think that they’ve done, like I said, they added all these elements, but the reality is the audience is three years older, now. I do think they’re building — they’re giving space for those kids who were young to see the first movie and letting it grow into a little more radical version of the film. Yes, in that first film, that last sequence, I kill my daughter, and that’s not good as a father figure. There are all kinds of things that are happening. But the reality is that this film has a lot more jump scares. I think that it speaks more to what the game is. And I think that people will really appreciate that.
Totally. That jumps into what I wanted to ask you next, just because you’ve been part of some huge franchises in your career and in your life. Scream, Scooby-Doo, and all of that. But what has the Five Nights at Freddy’s fanbase meant to you since becoming part of this world? I mean, I know there are so many video games, books, and so much Five Nights at Freddy’s-related media. And there are fans all across the world. What’s it been like interacting with them and learning this lore and culture?
Yeah, the funny thing is that, for me, the lore and the culture are really left to Scott [Cawthon] and Emma [Tammi]. Early on, the first time I even talked to Scott, I was like, ‘Listen. I need you to tell me what you expect from me in terms of the depth and breadth of the knowledge of what it is to be William Afton.’ To his credit, he said, ‘I’m going to send you five play-throughs. So you can watch people play through. And you’ll get an understanding of the games. But, more importantly, just play the first game. That’s what I need you to focus on. Play the first game. Understand what people have come for, and what they love. And that’s where you go from.’
Everything else is in conversation with Scott, in terms of who William Afton is. And, to be candid, he’s given me a lot of leeway to sort of build my version of who he is. In the new movie, there’s a great sequence, and he’s like, ‘I love what you’re doing, just keep doing it.’ And there’s so little to hold onto in these films; the things you’re pulling in terms of wardrobe, the things you’re doing in terms of physical. There’s a sequence in this movie that, I love it, I’m really happy about it, and I think fans are going to love it, too. But, you know, there’s not always a lot of dialogue to pull from.
And then, hopefully, in the third movie, we’ll get that showdown. We’ll get that final Harry Potter vs. Voldemort or Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Vader. That’s our hope. Within that, we’ll get to do that and explore more. For now, we’ve got a long way to go; we’ve got to get people into the theaters.
That makes total sense. I’m curious, though, when you played that game for the first time, did that inspire something in you to keep going and play through all the rest of them? I remember, I was born in 96, so I was just outside the target demographic when the first one came out in 2014. But, still, I was in college playing it and like, ‘No, I think I want to keep playing these. They’re fun, interesting, and I’m into it.’
Yeah, I did not. Like, I got it. By the way, I didn’t answer your last question — literally, you were talking, and I was like, ‘Oh, you son of a bitch, I didn’t answer your question.’ So real quick, to double back. The fandom, my relationship with the fans, has been fantastic. I do think I’ve been incredibly well-received. From what I’ve read and from what I’ve seen, the people, Scott tells me — because he reads and sees everything — are happy with what I built. Or what we’ve built, in terms of representing William Afton. For me, I’m really proud of that.
I love every kid that comes to my table at a convention with their home-built Springtrap the Yellow Rabbit, Foxy, or whatever it is. And I do think that one of the gifts that I have received is this love back from the fandom. And I’m deeply appreciative of that.
In terms of the game and playing it, I played the first game. I got it, I understood it. I love games. I play FIFA every chance I get; I play three games of chess a day. I love games. But, for me, I didn’t follow through; I didn’t get sucked into that rabbit hole. I loved it, I get it, but it’s just not something I followed through with.
Sure, totally. Another super exciting thing about Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is that we know Skeet Ulrich is going to be in the movie, too. Which, awesome, can’t wait. A little Scream reunion on the big screen, I will be there. There hasn’t been too much said about his role, but can you tell me a little bit about what it was like to work with him again on another horror project like this?
Yeah, we just did another interview together like 20 minutes ago. He’s great. The thing is, I think both of us have a deep appreciation for the fans. We’ve grown up holding space for the Scream fans. And this feels very similar. There’s a voracious amount of people out there that have the tattoos, they adore the characters. All of what Scream has meant to the fans is more important than what it means to us, that’s for sure. The thing we share is that relationship with that fanbase. Can’t really get into what we’re doing in the movie, who he plays, or what it means in terms of that aspect of it, but having him on board and having him be an ambassador to the community, that’s nothing but a win for everyone.
Totally and, again, I can’t wait to see it. Jumping off that, I would love to ask a Scream question because I’m such a fan. Top five favorite movies of all-time.
What are the other four?
The other four? Some of them are maybe a little obscure, but like Sing Street. Inside Llewyn Davis. Wet Hot American Summer.
Inside Llewyn Davis?
Yeah, Coen Brothers movie.
Oh, yeah, sure.
I mean, it changes in and out, but Scream is definitely in those top five. But I’m the kind of Scream nerd who has gone back and watched all the director’s commentaries and stuff like that. My question is, in Scream 2, Wes Craven said you had an uncredited cameo in the background of a party scene. Can you confirm if that’s really you? Is that really Stu back there?
Yeah. I was picking up — I went by set, I was friends with everyone. I was picking up Neve [Campbell] and, frankly, Wes was like, ‘Why don’t you walk through the back of this thing?’ I think we were making a joke, like, ‘This is what they’re going to build the sequels on, this is a mistake.’ But he was like, ‘Just walk through the back.’ So I do walk through the back of that party scene. It’s hilarious that it pops up all the time, and people talk about it all the time, when it was literally just for a hootenanny in between shots.
Sure. That kind of answers what I was going to ask next, because I was wondering if there was a conversation there. I mean, it was Scream 2, so you knew there were going to be sequels, and it was going to be a franchise. I was just wondering if there was thought at all about if this means Stu is someday coming back, or if it was just supposed to be a blink and you’ll miss it, let’s have fun for a second kind of thing.
Yeah, I think it was more of the latter. I think it was like, ‘Let’s have fun.’ I mean, I was supposed to originally do Scream 3. There’s a famous story about how we made the deal that I was coming back to run — the idea of the story was that I was going to run a group of high school killers from prison. The reality is that Columbine High School tragically happened, so Hollywood, in a show of good thinking, decided to change that narrative. So I never got to be in that third movie. But it’s been interesting because Kevin [Williamson] has been like, ‘I was going to keep you alive in the third film.’ Which means that Stu could potentially be alive. And, now, here we are.
Yeah. Which, I mean, we’ve got Scream 7 coming out sometime early next year. Can’t wait, the trailer looks amazing.
February 27, in case you were curious.
That’s the date. I can’t wait to see it, I’m such a fan. I know there’s so much you can’t say, and I won’t try to press you for anything, but how was it coming back to this world and working with Kevin again in this franchise?
It was awesome. The reality is that I remember where I was when I got the phone call. I remember in the park, exactly where it happened. Seeing the phone call from Kevin Williamson. We had seen each other at a party like three weeks beforehand at Mike Flanagan’s house. I was like, ‘What is he calling me for? That’s so strange.’ He was talking about going in and doing Scream 7. And even at the party, he was like, ‘Yeah, we’re going to go shoot the movie, I’m going to direct it.’ I was like, ‘That’s incredible.’ And he never mentioned anything. But we got on the phone and was like, ‘Do you want to come back and play with us?’ I was like, ‘You bastard, you could have said something like three weeks ago!’
Look, I’m excited. What I’m most excited about is I think the movie, with Kevin involved and with Neve back — listen, I love the Radio Silence guys. I thought Melissa Barrera was fantastic. But I’m excited to see where this new iteration of Scream goes. The movie is testing through the roof, I think people are going to love it, and I think fans are going to lose their minds. It’s very fun.
Thanks to Matthew Lillard for taking the time to discuss Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

HBO Max Offers Massive Discount in Black Friday Deal
Popular streamer HBO Max is not holding back in its Black Friday deal for 2025, and better yet, the offer is already live. While the network increased subscription prices late last month in October, it is enticing both new and existing customers by cutting its Basic With Ads plan by more than half for the next 12 months. For those keeping score, this is a much better Black Friday deal than what HBO Max offered in 2023 and 2024, so it’s a good time to lock in a low rate now.
HBO Max deal cuts subscription price to $2.99 a month
Starting Monday, November 24, until December 1, new and returning HBO Max subscribers can purchase 12 months of its Basic With Ads plan for only $2.99 a month instead of the typical price of $10.99 a month.
Doing the math, that comes to under $36 for the entire year. That’s also a whopping 73% discount or total savings of $96 across the year.
For the last two years, the network had a similar deal for Black Friday except that it only lasted six months before the subscription price went back up to the normal amount. With this new deal, if luck holds out, HBO Max will copy it for next year’s Black Friday deal so that customers can continue to lock in that discounted price.
It’s been a strong year for the streamer so far with The Pitt, Task, and IT: Welcome to Derry, along with new seasons for The White Lotus and The Last of Us. HBO Max has been able to score the rights to stream several blockbusters as well, including Superman, Weapons, Final Destination: Bloodlines, an upcoming Batman movie, and the box office smash Ne Zha 2.
Slated for release in 2026 on the network are Lanterns, Half Man, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, in addition to additional seasons of House of the Dragon, The Pitt, and Euphoria.

2025 Batman Movie Hits HBO Max Next Month
A Batman movie released in 2025 has set an HBO Max streaming release date.
Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires is an animated DC superhero movie that was released in North America by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment this past September. Directed by Juan Meza-León, the movie’s voice cast includes Horacio García Rojas as Yohualli Coatl/Batman, Omar Chaparro as Yoka/Joker, Álvaro Morte as Hernán Cortés/Two-Face, and more.
“In a bold reimagining of the Batman legend set in the Aztec empire; a young Aztec boy escapes to Tenochtitlán after his father is murdered by Spanish conquistadors. There; he trains in the temple of the bat god Tzinacan; and develops weaponry to avenge his father’s death. Along the way; he encounters familiar figures like Jaguar Woman and the conquistador Hernán Cortés,” the official synopsis reads.
When will Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires be available to watch on HBO Max?
Aztec Batman: Clase of Empires will be available to stream on HBO Max on December 22, 2025.
Coming Soon Editor-in-Chief Tyler Treese said in a review for the Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires 4K, “The coolest aspect of Aztec Batman is getting to see the Aztec culture and historical figures blended with Batman characters. For example, the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés fittingly becomes Two-Face. From Azrael and Poison Ivy to Catwoman and Joker, we see several new versions of DC characters throughout.
“Sadly, the one that doesn’t fully hit the mark is the new Batman, as Yohualli Coatl never displays any sort of detective quality, nor do we see much of an inner conflict. A tease at the end sets up a sequel, and it doesn’t end on a very satisfying note, so hopefully some of this will be explored more in a sequel. So, while it doesn’t all hit the mark, I’m glad DC tried something different.”

Daniel Craig’s Knives Out 4 Gets Exciting Update Ahead of Wake Up Dead Man
Ahead of Wake Up Dead Man’s highly anticipated premiere, acclaimed filmmaker Rian Johnson has shared an update regarding the future of Netflix’s Knives Out franchise.
Since the first installment made its debut in 2019, the Daniel Craig-led murder mystery franchise has remained a hit among critics and audiences alike. After its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery has already received a Certified Fresh score of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 93 reviews.
What’s the new update for Knives Out 4?
During a recent interview with THR, Johnson confirmed that he and Craig are already discussing what’s next for Detective Benoit Blanc in Knives Out 4. He also expressed his commitment to continuing to make movies for the franchise because of how much he enjoys crafting new Benoit Blanc stories with a different set of actors.
“Creatively, I feel energized after making this one,” Johnson said. “Daniel and I are already starting to formulate . . . what could the next one be if we do another one?”
He added, “I don’t know why I would stop doing it if we could keep making them.”
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is once again written and directed by Johnson. The latest entry also stars Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. Johnson is also producing the project alongside Ram Bergman. The creative team consists of cinematographer Steve Yedlin, editor Bob Ducsay, composer Nathan Johnson, production designer Rick Heinrichs, and costume designer Jenny Eagan.
The movie will arrive in theaters on November 26, followed by its Netflix premiere on December 12.
