What do we know about Off Campus Season 3 so far?

Off Campus season 2 will largely adapt The Score, which is the third book in Elle Kennedy’s franchise. The season will focus on Dean and Allie’s relationship. That leaves season 3 to adapt elements from the remaining three books, those being The Mistake, The Goal, and The Legacy.

The Mistake focuses on the relationship between John Logan and Grace Ivers, with the latter being played by India Fowler in season 2. The Goal follows Tucker and Sabrina James’ relationship, and The Legacy follows the lives of all the couples following their graduation. It’s unclear what direction Prime Video will take with the series in a potential season 3.

According to Amazon, via Variety, the show pulled in 36 million viewers during its first 12 days of streaming. It became the third most-watched series debut on Prime Video. The second season entered production earlier in June, with fans expecting it to arrive on Prime Video early next year. Prime Video has not officially announced the release date for Off Campus season 2.

‘Strongly Disagree’: Harry Potter HBO TV Show Speaks Out Against J.K. Rowling’s Trans Opinions

Another member of HBO’s Harry Potter cast has spoken out against J.K. Rowling. The member did not agree with Rowling’s opinion on trans.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Bel Powley said, “I strongly disagree with J.K. Rowling’s views on gender. I think that the trans community deserve safety and dignity and respect and total acceptance.” However, the actor also pointed out how she was in love with the Harry Potter series. Powley explained that she had read the books and was mesmerized by the amount of “magic and spookiness” present within the series.

Powley plays Harry Potter’s aunt, Petunia Dursley, in the upcoming HBO TV show. For a long time now, Rowling’s anti-trans comments have fueled controversies. In fact, when HBO brought Rowling on board for the TV show, they received some significant backlash for working with the Harry Potter author.

How other HBO Harry Potter actors have responded to J.K. Rowling’s views

Not only Powley but other cast members of the show too had voiced their opposition to Rowling’s views. In the recent past, Nick Frost, the TV show‘s Hagrid, stated, “She’s allowed her opinion and I’m allowed mine, they just don’t align in any way, shape or form.”

Additionally, the new Severus Snape of Hogwarts, Paapa Essiedu, had publicly extended his support for trans rights in the U.K. last year. Such an incident fueled speculation that Rowling had him fired from the show. The statement was later addressed and immediately shrugged off by the author.

John Lithgow, who is slated to play Albus Dumbledore, termed Rowling’s anti-trans comments as “ironic and inexplicable.” Elaborating on his views, Lithgow stated, “I’ve read about them, and I’ve never met her. She’s not really involved in this production at all. The people who are re-adapting Harry Potter and turning it into an eight-year-long TV series are remarkable. … These are people I really want to work with.”

In fact, Rowling’s views have received adverse reactions from the original Harry Potter trio of Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint.

Minions & Monsters Could Make Box Office History for All the Wrong Reasons

Minions & Monsters from cinema’s most bankable animated series are stumbling toward an unwelcome box office record. Early projections indicate the seventh Despicable Me film is set to become the first entry in the 14-year-old franchise to miss the half-billion-dollar mark, a downturn for a property that has reliably printed money since 2010.

Directed by franchise veteran Pierre Coffin, the prequel transports the yellow troublemakers to 1920s Hollywood, where they accidentally become silent-film stars before the advent of talkies upends their careers. Desperate for a comeback, the Minions use a stolen spell book to conjure real monsters for their own creature feature, only to watch their creations develop ambitions of world domination. The voice cast features Allison Janney, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, and a cameo from George Lucas.

After opening across 4,243 North American locations on July 1, Minions & Monsters collected $62 million domestically through the Independence Day holiday frame. By early August, worldwide ticket sales had stalled at roughly $473 million. That figure trails the franchise’s previous low-water mark by a significant margin. The original Despicable Me, released before the series became a cultural phenomenon, still managed $544 million globally without adjusting for inflation (via Box Office Mojo).

What makes this underperformance particularly jarring is the franchise’s track record of extraordinary consistency. The Minions have reliably powered films past the billion-dollar threshold, with 2015’s Minions reaching $1.157 billion and Despicable Me 3 crossing $1.032 billion globally. Even pandemic-era entries performed remarkably well. Minions: The Rise of Gru battled through COVID-disrupted markets to secure $937 million in 2022, while Despicable Me 4 collected $986 million just two years ago (via Box Office Mojo).

With Minions & Monsters already heading to streaming after completing its theatrical rollout across all major territories, including China, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan, any chance of a late surge has effectively evaporated.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day just rewrote box office history, and one beloved Spidey film should be very worried. The Sony/Marvel sequel’s record-shattering second weekend puts several all-time domestic totals on notice.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to shatter box office records in its second weekend, according to Deadline. The Sony/Marvel Studios sequel earned $145M domestically in its sophomore frame. That figure marks the third-best second weekend in domestic box office history.

The Destin Daniel Cretton-directed film now sits at $655M stateside after just ten days. That total represents the highest ten-day domestic gross ever, surpassing Avengers: Endgame’s $621.2M haul. The sequel also crossed $1 billion internationally in only 12 days of release.

Brand New Day’s $655M running domestic cume now puts Spider-Man: No Way Home’s $804.7M lifetime total in serious danger. The sequel could also potentially take down Avengers: Infinity War and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on the all-time domestic chart. Globally, the film stands at $1.67B with $2 billion soon within its reach.

The Tom Holland and Zendaya starrer held the No. 1 spot across nearly all 67 markets. Meanwhile, PLF screens and added IMAX auditoriums drove 33% of the domestic weekend gross. IMAX alone contributed $9.8M across 300 auditoriums, accounting for 7% of the frame.

Overseas, China led international markets with $29.1M, pushing its cumulative total to $186.7M. Additionally, Brand New Day became India’s biggest Hollywood release ever after a $10.6M weekend. Its Indian tally now stands at $52.8M. Brazil delivered the strongest hold among top markets at negative 33%.

Furthermore, other notable international results include the UK at $16M and an $87.4M cume. Mexico added $15.3M for a $65.8M running total. France contributed $13.9M, while Australia earned $12M. Germany rounded out the top markets with $10.5M. Overall, the sequel’s global second weekend totaled $381M, with $236M coming from overseas territories.

The Legend of Zelda’s A-List Cast Keeps Growing as Big Planet of the Apes Star Joins Movie

Sony’s live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda has added another major name to its ensemble cast. The Nintendo game is being adapted into a feature film by Wes Ball, director of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

In an exclusive report from Deadline, it was stated that the director will reunite with New Zealand actress Lydia Peckham in this adaptation. However, her role in the movie has not been confirmed. According to the report, studio representatives declined to comment on the casting, while the actress’s representatives could not be reached.

The star recently finished shooting Netflix’s upcoming drama series Kennedys, where she portrays Rosemary Kennedy, sister of John F. Kennedy. Her other credits include The Burning of Broken Beak, The Wrecking Crew, Robin Hood, Nuremberg, and director Logan Marshall’s feature Seen.

What the new Zelda movie casting means for Nintendo’s live-action adaptation

The new addition to the Legend of Zelda movie cast means that the director is bringing someone from his own creative circle to the Nintendo adaptation.

As stated above, the two have previously collaborated on the 2024 installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise. The movie proved to be a modest box office hit, grossing $394.7 million worldwide against an estimated production budget of $160 million.

Moreover, the New Zealand actress will be joining a star-studded lineup for the Hyrule universe movie. This lineup includes Dichen Lachman, Uli Latukefu, Yvonne Strahovski, and the late Sam Neill. The adaptation will also star Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda.

At the moment, the movie’s plot details are being kept under wraps. However, according to the game’s synopsis, the adaptation will follow the elf-like warrior Link and Princess Zelda as they fight to save the magical land of Hyrule from Ganon, an evil warlord turned demon king.

The Legend of Zelda movie will hit the theaters on April 30, 2027.

Scott Eastwood & Shia LaBeouf’s Tense Feud Gets Wild New Explanation From Fury Actor

Scott Eastwood has offered a new explanation for his infamous feud with Shia LaBeouf on the set of Fury. Speaking on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, the American actor reflected on his experience filming the 2014 World War II movie. At the time, he and his co-star got into a dispute over the latter’s method acting.

Eastwood explained the event that led to his infamous argument with LaBeouf. The incident occurred while Eastwood, LaBeouf, and Brad Pitt were filming a scene inside a military tank. While recalling the incident that sparked the feud, the 40-year-old said, “Brad Pitt sort of broke up a little tense moment.”

Revisiting the entire event, Eastwood said, “One day, he [LaBeouf] was having an episode and thought that I shouldn’t be spitting tobacco on the tank, which was in the script. And finally I said, ‘Enough is enough.’ I said, ‘Hey f— you. Said stop pulling your s—. I’m gonna whoop your ass,’ and then he got froggy, and everyone broke it up.”

Eastwood admitted it was “tough” working with LaBeouf on set, claiming, “he was clearly tormented.” The Monterey-born actor believed his co-star was “very method,” going to extremes, like pulling out his teeth or cutting himself, to develop his character.

How Brad Pitt stepped in to defuse tension between Scott Eastwood and Shia LaBeouf

Brad Pitt, who also starred alongside them, spoke about the incident in a 2014 British GQ cover story.

In that interview, Pitt recalled telling Eastwood not to “spit tobacco on the tank,” because the tank had become like a “home” to the cast during filming. He stated, “He’s disrespecting our home, you know? So I said, in the scene with the cameras rolling, ‘You’re going to clean that s— up.'”

Pitt continued. “Shia had the same reaction I did, and started having some words. But it soon got out of hand, then I had to get in after the cameras were rolling, and explain it to Scotty, you know…”

When the argument escalated, Pitt had to step in like a “dad trying to separate his kids” from fighting. However, at the end of the day, when they checked the script, they realized Eastwood had simply been following what was written. “So we were the knobs in the end…,” added the actor.

Directed by David Ayer, Fury was released in 2014 and was a commercial success, grossing nearly $211 million. The film was also critically acclaimed, earning a 75% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Deadline reports Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has reached a $911 million global cumulative total after three weekends. The Universal epic earned $136.2 million in its third global weekend despite competing against Spider-Man: Brand New Day. IMAX screens contributed $68 million to that weekend, marking the large format exhibitor’s second-highest grossing weekend ever.

Brand New Day dominated the global box office with a massive $927 million worldwide opening (via Deadline). The Sony/Marvel Studios sequel delivered the second-best global opening in motion picture history. Only Avengers: Endgame’s reported $1.22 billion global debut stands ahead of the Tom Holland-led blockbuster.

The Odyssey retained all IMAX screens in most markets during Brand New Day’s record-breaking opening weekend. However, China, Japan and Korea ran Brand New Day on IMAX screens since Nolan’s film hasn’t launched there yet. Brand New Day earned a combined $23 million from IMAX screens across those three Asian markets alone.

Universal’s success with The Odyssey helped the studio cross $4 billion at the year-to-date worldwide box office. This milestone makes Universal the first studio to reach that mark in 2026, ahead of Disney. The studio counts $1.53 billion domestically and $2.48 billion internationally across its entire 2026 slate.

Nolan achieved his best-ever third domestic weekend with $51 million for The Odyssey. The film added another $85.2 million from international markets during that same frame. Global IMAX hubs contributed $44.7 million over the weekend, pushing The Odyssey’s total IMAX cumulative to $221 million. That figure makes it the third-highest-grossing IMAX title of all time.

Brand New Day meanwhile broke all-time opening records in multiple markets including France, India, Brazil and Spain. The film also set records for the Spider-Man franchise, Zendaya, director Daniel Destin Cretton and Sony studios.

Christopher Nolan & Matt Damon’s 93% RT Movie Sets Peacock Streaming Date

Christopher Nolan‘s acclaimed film Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy and Matt Damon, will soon be available to stream on Peacock. In addition to being a box office smash, the film swept the Oscars, winning Nolan Best Director, as well as a slew of other major awards including Best Picture.

Oppenheimer begins streaming on Peacock in August

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer will begin streaming on Peacock on August 16, 2026, and will be the only movie releasing on the streaming service that day (via TV Guide).

Nolan wrote and directed Oppenheimer based on Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s 2005 biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer. The movie focuses on Oppenheimer’s life, his time working on the Manhattan Project as the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory, and his later years. Damon portrays Leslie Groves, a US Army Corps of Engineers officer who serves as the director of the Manhattan Project. Meanwhile, Cillian Murphy takes on the title role.

The film’s star-studded cast also includes Emily Blunt as Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr. as Rear Admiral Lewis Strauss, and Florence Pugh as Jean Tatlock. The movie premiered on July 11, 2023, at Le Grand Rex in Paris, France, before its release in US theaters on July 21.

Sim wrote in his review of the film, “Regardless of the rough edges, Oppenheimer is a tour de force from Nolan. A cinematic achievement where he takes a dramatic real-life story and makes it into a movie that must be experienced on the big screen. I saw this movie in 70mm IMAX, and I would encourage anyone who can do the same.” The movie made over $975 million at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo).

It also received 13 nominations at the 96th Academy Awards, winning seven, including Best Picture, Best Director for Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy, and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr.

Shrek & Other DreamWorks Characters Join Popular Fighting Video Game Today

Shrek and his companions have joined a popular fighting video game. Gamers can now use four DreamWorks characters as warriors in a brawl in collaboration with the beloved franchise.

On July 29, Ubisoft launched a Shrek crossover event. In collaboration with DreamWorks Animation, the titular hero has joined Fiona, Puss in Boots, and Donkey in their 2D video game Brawlhalla.

This partnership will run through August 19, 2026, and also includes other in-game features based on Shrek’s world. This event coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Academy Award-winning film, which is premiering its fifth installment next summer.

In a previously released trailer, it was revealed that Shrek, Fiona, and Puss in Boots will be playable characters with their own distinctive abilities. The titular ogre’s official description reads, “The irascible but lovable hero joins Brawlhalla as a Mythic Crossover and uses his ogre strength during battles.”

Fiona is known for her assertiveness and independence, and will use it to her advantage in the game. She “brawls in her signature green dress as a Mythic Crossover,” just like she did in the movies.

Puss in Boots is skilled in close combat and “will harness his swordsmanship—along with his suaveness and feline prowess,” according to the official profile. Unlike these three, Donkey will react to the battle’s events as a companion.

This crossover collaboration also includes other features, such as two maps. The first map is for competitive play, titled Shrek’s Swamp. The second is Shrek’s Muddy Swamp, a casual map with a mud hazard, developed specifically for this event.

Moreover, there are other franchise-inspired items, including Farquaad, Dragon, and Pinocchio emoji skins, as well as a KO effect of Mongo, the giant gingerbread man.

As per the official website, “Brawlhalla is a free 2D platform fighting game where history’s greatest warriors brawl to prove who’s the best in an epic test of strength and skill.” This game supports up to 8 local or online players. It is available for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.

Shrek 5 is slated to release in theaters on June 30, 2027.

Matt Damon has finally shared why he passed on a role in Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight. While many actors would have seized the opportunity to join the iconic 2008 Batman film, Damon said he had a different reason for saying no.

On Josh Horowitz’s podcast, Happy Sad Confused, the actor spoke about his decision. He explained that he was forced to pass because he was already headlining another project at the time and chose to prioritize a lead role. The Odyssey star said, “The Dark Knight was a small role that I was offered. It’s a good role in a great movie. There was some other big movie I was doing where I was like, ‘Well, I can’t play Harvey Dent.’”

The role of Harvey Dent ultimately went to Aaron Eckhart, whose turn as Gotham’s “White Knight” and his tragic transformation became a central pillar of the movie.

Damon eventually teamed up with Nolan for The Odyssey. In the film, he stars as Odysseus, the legendary Greek king of Ithaca. The film follows his dangerous 10-year journey home after the Trojan War. The cast also includes Anne Hathaway as Penelope and Tom Holland as Telemachus.

Harvey Dent was not the only major role Damon missed. Another big role he rejected was Jake Sully in James Cameron’s Avatar. Damon chose the Jason Bourne franchise instead, even though Cameron reportedly offered him 10% of the movie’s box office profits.

HBO Max Adds Requested Features, But There’s a Catch

HBO Max has added two long-requested features for iOS and Android users. These features are designed to help users easily discover their next watch on the mobile application.

The two features, HBO Max Shorts and Ask HBO Max, are being tested on iOS and Android. Shorts allow users to discover content by highlighting iconic moments from the platform’s library in a vertical, scrollable feed.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, these are created using an in-house AI tool “which helps human editors select and verticalize content by using machine learning algorithms that utilize scene-level metadata to comb through thousands of hours of titles and suggests the most compelling, high-impact scenes for discovery.”

Ask HBO Max is an AI conversational search tool that allows users to discover content based on natural language. For instance, users can type “in a mood for a rom-com,” “psychological thrillers for Halloween,” or “movies with a surprising plot twist,” for recommendations.

These AI-based features help users get recommendations based on their previous watch history. This will curate their feed for a more personal experience. However, there is a catch.

Most HBO Max users will have to wait for the new features

These two new HBO Max features are in their testing phase. This means that only selected users on iOS and Android can access them. General users will have to wait until the official launch.

Once launched to the public, users can tap the “Shorts” icon and begin scrolling to find a new show or movie to watch directly. Another feature being tested is “Add To List,” which allows users to directly add a title to the “My List” section from the feed.

Deepna Devkar, HBO Max senior vice president of Machine Learning Engineering, stated, “We’re thrilled to launch this application of AI to accelerate the creation of these clips and look forward to quickly expanding to make even more of our amazing content offering discoverable through this new feature.”

Moreover, Liesel Kipp, Warner Bros. Discovery‘s executive vice president of Product Management, commented that these features are built on intuitive and familiar behaviors that subscribers use every day. He added, “Both ‘HBO Max Shorts’ and ‘conversational search’ translate those behaviors into new ways to discover programming across the HBO Max service, making it easier and more seamless for subscribers to find something to watch.”

Black Panther 3 Cast: Which MCU Stars Are Confirmed & Could Return

During the recent 2026 San Diego Comic-Con, Academy Award winner Ryan Coogler finally announced the first official details about Blank Panther 3. He was joined by two returning cast members and one surprising new cast member. This comes ahead of the highly anticipated threequel’s theatrical release on December 15, 2028.

Confirmed Black Panther 3 cast

So far, Letitia Wright and Winston Duke are the only confirmed returning cast members for Black Panther 3. Before this, they will first reprise their respective roles as Shuri/Black Panther and M’baku in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, which comes out this December 18. Joining them is franchise newcomer David Jonsson, who has been tapped to portray the next Black Panther and T’Challa’s son, Prince T’Challa II/Toussaint. The British actor is best known for his roles in 2023’s Rye Lane, 2024’s Alien: Romulus, and 2025’s The Long Walk. T’Challa’s young son was introduced at the end of 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever during the mid-credits scene.

Although Coogler has already mentioned Academy Award winner Denzel Washington‘s involvement in Black Panther 3, Marvel Studios has not technically confirmed his casting yet. Should Washington indeed join the cast, this would mark his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and his first collaboration with Coogler. Further details about his character are still under wraps, but the Training Day star previously confirmed that the Sinners director specifically wrote a character for him in Black Panther 3.

Unconfirmed Black Panther 3 cast

Even though Marvel Studios has yet to announce the full Black Panther 3 cast, I’m sure that Wright and Duke won’t be the only ones returning for the new movie. After appearing in the first two installments, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, and Florence Kasumba are most likely set to reprise their respective roles as Nakia, Okoye, Everett K. Ross, and Ayo. Apart from them, I also believe that Coogler would surprise fans once again with the potential appearances of Michael B. Jordan and Angela Bassett. Even though Erik Killmonger and Queen Ramonda had already passed away, the creative team could still bring them back through the Ancestral Plane scenes.
