James Gunn has debunked a DCU Wonder Woman casting rumor.
Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU kicked off at Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios in December 2024 with the animated Creature Commandos shows. Other DCU projects like Gunn’s Superman movie and Peacemaker Season 2 were released in 2025, while 2026 will offer DC fans Supergirl, Lanterns, and Clayface.
It’s known that a DCU Wonder Woman movie is in development; though, not much is known about the project at this point, other than that the script is being written by Ana Nogueira. Some have speculated that Diana may first make her DCU debut in Man of Tomorrow, which will be released in 2027 and serves as a follow-up to Superman, but whether or not this proves out to be true remains to be seen.

And it all boils down to one guy in the American system, the president, who is the only person allowed to launch a nuclear strike, either offensively or defensively, and the lives of every person on the planet revolve around that one person. That’s the world we live in, and we need to remember that when we vote next time.”
“So the end of that movie was the only way that movie could have ended because — as the computer says at the end of War Games — ‘the only way to win is not to play.’

Ryan Coogler has explained what Black Panther 2 was originally going to look like had Chadwick Boseman been able to reprise his role as T’Challa.
Marvel Studios’ Black Panther 2, also known as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was released in 2022. Directed by Coogler, the Black Panther sequel sees Letitia Wright and Lupita Nyong’o reprise their roles as Shuri and Nakia, while it also introduces Tenoch Huerta MejÃa’s Namor character.
Chadwick was originally supposed to reprise his role as T’Challa in Black Panther 2 after his MCU character previously appeared in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Boseman, however, tragically passed away in 2020, and the film’s script had to be reworked.

Speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Coogler was asked if he could share at least one scene from the original Black Panther 2 script that would have featured Boseman.
“It was like a 180-page draft chock-full of them,” Coogler answered. “The big thing about the script was that it was this thing called the Ritual of Eight. Where, when a prince is eight years old, he has to go spend eight days in the bush with his father. Among those eight days, they have to go into the bush without any tools. The prince has to listen and do everything that’s asked of him by his father, but the rule is, for those eight days, the prince can ask the father any question. And the father has to answer.
“During the course of those eight days, Namor launches an attack. So that was what the movie was. He had to deal with somebody — and it was a different version of Namor in that script, but he had to deal with someone who was like insanely dangerous. But, because of that ritual, his son had to be joined at his hip the whole time. So while he was engaging in negotiations and fights, his son had to be right there, or else they’d have to violate this ritual, which had never been broken.”

Ian Ward, played by Daytime Emmy winner Ray Wise, is set to return in the Friday, Jan. 2 episode. The Young and the Restless revisits the dark secret Mariah Copeland has been hiding for years. The story, left unfinished in 2025, dives back into the emotional damage Ian caused her. His return shows Mariah’s healing is not over yet.
Ray Wise has worked in television and film for decades. He began his career on the daytime soap Love of Life. He later gained fame in shows like Twin Peaks, 24, and Reaper, along with films such as RoboCop and Swamp Thing. When he joined Y&R in 2014 as Ian Ward, he brought one of the show’s most chilling villains to life. Ian oversaw the dangerous New World Cult before exiting the series in 2016.
Wise won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2015 for Outstanding Guest Appearance. He shared the win with Donna Mills from General Hospital and Fred Willard from The Bold and the Beautiful. Fans saw another shocking turn in November 2024 when Ian returned. He teamed up with Jordan Howard to target the Newman family.
In January 2025, Victor Newman shot Ian, and the show made it seem like he was dead. That did not last long. Viewers later saw Ian open his eyes inside an ambulance. Talking to Soap Opera Digest, Wise said he was glad the writers left the door open for Ian’s return. Ian last appeared in October 2025 in a very different way. He did not return as a real threat. Instead, he appeared in Mariah’s mind during her stay at a mental health facility. 007 First Light Release Date Delayed for Video Game
IO Interactive has announced its highly anticipated action game, 007 First Light, will be delayed for two months. Despite this being potentially bad news for fans, it seems development on the game is going smoothly and that the extra months are for polish and refinement.
When is the new 007 First Light release date?
In a statement from IO Interactive, the developer announced 007 First Light will now release on May 27, 2026. It was originally set to release on March 27, 2026.
“007 First Light is our most ambitious project to date, and the team has been fully foucesed on delivering an unforgettable James Bond experience, bringing together breathtaking action, globe-trotting, spycraft, gadgets, car chases, and more,” begins the statement. “As an independent developer and publisher, this decision allows us to ensure the experience meets the level of quality you players deserve on day one.”
“The game is progressing well and is fully playable from beginning to end, so these additional two months will allow us to further polish and refine the experience, ensuring we deliver the strongest possible version at launch,” continues the statement. “We’re confident this sets 007 First Light up for long-term success, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and continued support we’ve received ever since we revealed the game.”
Although it has been known that IO Interactive was working on a James Bond video game, they officially unveiled the title and first trailer for 007 First Light during the June 2025 PlayStation State of Play. During this year’s Game Awards, it was announced that Grammy Award-winning artist Lenny Kravitz would star in the game.

Disney Removes 2 Movies From 2026 Release Schedule, Delays 2027 Film
Disney has removed two movies from their release date calendar entirely, while a third film has been delayed by several months.
This year has proven to be busy for Disney as, through the various companies that they own, the studio has put out titles such as Captain America: Brave New World, Snow White, Lilo & Stitch, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Freakier Friday, Tron: Ares, Predator: Badlands, Zootopia 2, Ella McCay, Avatar: Fire and Ash, and more.
Disney won’t be slowing down in 2026, either, as some of their upcoming movies include Hoppers, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Mandalorian and Grogu, Toy Story 5, Moana, and Avengers: Doomsday, among other titles.
When were the upcoming Disney movies supposed to come out?
Having said all that, Disney is now changing around some of their projects’ release dates, which has resulted in two movies quietly being removed from the calendar.
Disney has removed two untitled movies — meaning that there’s no word on what these projects were supposed to be — from its schedule. These films were supposed to come out on September 11, 2026, and November 6, 2026. It seems safe to assume that these projects aren’t MCU or Star Wars-related, as the company typically labels these movies as “Untitled Marvel” or “Untitled Star Wars” before they’re given a title. Beyond that, however, it’s anybody’s guess.
Another untitled Disney project that was dated for March 5, 2027, has now been pushed back to June 18, 2027. Again, there’s no word on what this movie might be at this time. It is worth noting, though, that this mysterious project has switched release dates with Pixar’s Gatto — that movie was originally going to be released on June 18, 2027, but has now pivoted to the March 5, 2027, release date.

New Zombie Horror Movie This Is Not a Test Gets Release Date, Bloody Poster
Independent Film Company (IFC) and Shudder have announced the release date for This Is Not a Test, an upcoming horror thriller that revolves around high school students suddenly facing a zombie apocalypse. In addition, the first poster has also been shared, featuring a glimpse of the main cast led by former Disney Channel star Olivia Holt (Girl vs. Monster, Cloak & Dagger).
“In the film, Sloane and a small group of her classmates take cover in their high school to escape their suddenly apocalyptic hometown. As danger relentlessly pounds on the doors, Sloane begins to see the world through the eyes of people who actually want to live and takes matters into her own hands,” reads the official synopsis.
When is the release date for This Is Not a Test?
IFC and Shudder will officially release This Is Not a Test in theaters on February 20, 2026. Leonardo DiCaprio & Jennifer Lawrence’s New Movie Adds Oscar Nominee
Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are set to star in Martin Scorsese‘s next film, an adaptation of Peter Cameron’s novel What Happens at Night. The trio are also set to be joined by another Oscar nominee for the movie as well.
Who has joined Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence’s upcoming movie?
According to a report from World of Reel, Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto is attached to the project to join Scorsese. Prieto is a longtime collaborator of Scorsese, having filmed his last four films, including The Wolf of Wall Street, Silence, The Irishman, and Killers of the Flower Moon. Prieto has also worked with a litany of high-profile directors, including Ang Lee, Spike Lee, Pedro Almodóvar, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Greta Gerwig.
What Happens at Night will be directed by Scorsese from a screenplay written by Patrick Marber. Besides DiCaprio, the movie will also star Jennifer Lawrence, who previously worked with the Titanic actor on the 2021 comedy Don’t Look Up. Even though Scorsese is serving as a producer on Lawrence’s Die, My Love movie, the upcoming project will be the first time that the acclaimed filmmaker will be directing Lawrence.
In a recent interview with one another as part of an Actors on Actors series, DiCaprio also opened up on what Lawrence could expect working with the legendary figure for the first time. Apple Original Films is in negotiations to finance and produce the projects alongside StudioCanal.
“The story follows a married American couple who travel to a small, snowy European town to adopt a baby. They check into a cavernous, largely deserted hotel where they encounter an enigmatic cast of characters, including a flamboyant chanteuse, a depraved businessman, and a charismatic faith healer,” reads the movie’s initial synopsis (via Deadline). “Nothing is quite as it seems in this strange, frozen world. As the couple struggles to claim their baby, the less they seem to know about themselves and the life they’ve built together.”

The Oscars are getting a new broadcast partner.
As announced by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, the Academy Awards ceremony — which has aired on ABC since the mid-1970s — will be moving to a new location in 2029. The deal will last at least through 2023.
Where will the Oscars be streamed for free?
The Oscars have partnered with YouTube, meaning the entire ceremony will be available to watch on YouTube and YouTube TV for free, per The Hollywood Reporter. The Alphabet Network (ABC) will continue to air the Oscars through “the 100th edition of the awards show in 2028.”
The article also notes, “As part of the newly-inked deal, YouTube will broadcast not only the Oscars ceremony itself, but also a significant amount of related content: red carpet pre-show and behind-the-scenes in-show content; the Oscar nominations announcement; the Governors Awards, at which the Academy presents honorary Oscars and occasionally the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award; the Oscars Nominees Luncheon; the Student Academy Awards ceremony; the Scientific and Technical Awards ceremony; Academy member and filmmaker interviews; film education programs; podcasts; and more.”

Classic Western Movie Getting TV Show Reboot From Amazon
MGM+ is rebooting one of the best Western movies from the 1960s, with writer Tim Kring (Heroes) attached to serve as an executive producer. The Amazon-owned streaming platform has officially granted an eight-episode series order to the upcoming TV adaptation of The Magnificent Seven, based on director John Sturges’ Steve McQueen-led movie.
“Tim Kring is a master storyteller,” MGM+ boss Michael Wright said in a statement. “Tim, Donald De Line, Larry Mirisch, and Bruce Kaufman have crafted a series that delivers the energy of a classic Western, honors the legacy of the original film, and reasserts its timeless themes of the power of unity against oppression and flawed heroes finding redemption by helping those who can’t help themselves.”
What do we know about Amazon’s The Magnificent Seven TV show?
According to Variety, production on The Magnificent Seven TV show is expected to begin in June 2026. Besides Kring, Donald De Line, Lawrence Mirisch, and Bruce Kaufman have also signed on as executive producers. It will be a production by Amazon-owned MGM+ Studios and MGM Television Studios.
“Set in the 1880s American frontier, the series follows a group of mercenaries who are hired to protect a peaceful Quaker village after it is massacred by a land baron’s hired guns,” reads the official logline. “As the flawed but gifted mercenaries embed with the Quakers, they must grapple with the question of whether it is acceptable to use violence to defend a people whose faith is based on nonviolence. The series will explore each member of the Seven, exploring what’s at stake and why they chose to take on this mission.”
Due to the 1960 movie’s critical and commercial success, it expanded into a franchise with three more sequels. In 2016, acclaimed filmmaker Antoine Fuqua directed a remake of the classic movie with Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawke leading the cast. The upcoming MGM+ reboot won’t be the first time that the movie has been adapted for TV, as CBS previously produced a remake starring Michael Biehn and Ron Perlman, which only lasted for two seasons from 1998-2000.

Ruben Fleischer directed the movie from a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith, Michael Lesslie, Paul Wernick, and Rhett Reese, based on the story by Eric Warren Singer.
