Disney+‘s TV and movie release schedule for December 8 to December 14, 2025, includes I AM BOXER’s third episode, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures (Season 3), Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation’s next episode, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Season 2).
On December 8, I AM BOXER’s third episode drops on Disney+. The series chronicles the journey of a boxing veteran named Don Lee participating in a hardcore competition. As such, a battle of survival begins among 90 boxers of all ages, trying to knock out each other to win.
Furthermore, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures (Season 3) arrives on the streaming platform. The animated adventure series chronicles the adventures of younglings across the galaxy. Together, they work hard to become Jedi knights to protect every citizen and creature in need.
Also coming to Disney+ is Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation’s next episode. It revolves around a high school student, Yu, who ends up reaching the Twisted-Wonderland. However, the young boy must survive in the magical world without having a power of his own.
Additionally, Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Season 2) premieres on the platform. It follows Percy’s return to Camp Half-Blood after a year. Soon, he learns that the camp is under a threat from Kronos and his friend Grover has gone missing.

Critics Trash Netflix’s Latest Western With Game of Thrones Lead
Netflix’s newest Western drama, The Abandons, featuring Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson, has received its first wave of reviews and Rotten Tomatoes score. However, critics have been quick to highlight issues with the recently premiered show’s uneven writing, pacing, and overall execution.
The Abandons fails to impress critics
Created by Kurt Sutter, The Abandons centers around Irishwoman Fiona Nolan and her adopted kids, who must rally together against the English bureaucrats who have taken over her new home. It premiered on December 4, 2025. Reviews indicate that Netflix’s new Western drama has struggled to win over many critics.
In his review for The Wrap, Hunter Ingram wrote, “Ultimately, the biggest thing working against ‘The Abandons’ is a frustrating need to complicate its own vision.” He described the series as an “intriguing albeit wobbly attempt” to explore the conflict between two women whose backgrounds, social positions, and personal lives could not be more different.
A similar review came from Nick Hilton of The Independent UK. According to him, the drama “lacks emotional depth” and moves at a pace that leaves “little time to linger over the landscapes.” He wrote, “Yet The Abandons rapidly gets sucked into soap opera territory, where the dialogue is stilted and cliched, and the characters are differentiated largely by circumstance, rather than personality. The supporting cast are terminally bland.”
Furthermore, Daniel Fienberg from The Hollywood Reporter stated that the Netflix show is never particularly bad, but it’s confusingly spare, rushed, and vaguely shoddy, as if the final product was, in some way, gutted of its most potentially distinctive elements.”
Meanwhile, Variety’s Alison Herman added that the series feels “thin and compressed.” She wrote, “The Abandons is a frustrating, incomplete take on a compelling premise. The title refers to its underserved protagonists in more ways than one.”
Herman further noted that several episodes run closer to half an hour and criticized the season’s conclusion. She stated that it is so abrupt that she had to check whether any additional episodes were available. She ultimately described the series as “a half-hearted execution.”
However, a more favourable view came from Lucy Mangan of The Guardian. She wrote that The Abandons remains “a thoughtful, essentially sound production.”
Netflix’s new western records embarrassing Rotten Tomatoes score
As of now, The Abandons hasn’t fared too well on Rotten Tomatoes. It holds a 29 percent critic score on the Tomatometer based on 21 published reviews. Moreover, the show has scored 37 percent on the Popcornmeter.
However, given that The Abandons has just arrived on Netflix, the scores might change based on the audience’s reactions.

Mihailoff (Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III). The film is produced by R.A. Horror Movie About Sammy Davis Jr.’s Ties To Church of Satan in Works
Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. is reportedly adapting an August 2024 Rolling Stone article about Sammy Davis Jr. into a horror movie. With Odom set to star in the film as well, it plans to explore the late singer and actor’s alleged connection to Anton LaVey and the Church of Satan.

The Tony and Grammy-winning star has reportedly acquired the screen rights to Alex Bhattacharji’s shocking article that explored the claimed connection Sammy Davis Jr. had with the Church of Satan. The story of the horror film will reportedly follow the circumstances that drew Davis into the mix.
Based on the Rolling Stone article, “Dance With the Devil,” one of the primary themes of the movie will also be exploring Davis’ friendship with the controversial Anton Szandor LaVey.
The article that is being adapted is “a sensitive story about a profoundly alienated Davis and his search for acceptance,” as per Bhattacharji. “It’s a rollicking ride that touches on complex, timely issues: racial and sexual identity, politics, religion, pop culture, and the counter-culture.” (via Deadline)
Bhattacharji’s article already shocked a huge part of the fanbase when it originally came out for its controversial content. For instance, an excerpt from the article reads, “Davis’ experience with Satanism has long lurked in the margins of his story, despite later efforts to excise and minimize it. The reality is that he maintained a two-decade-long connection that extended to the waning days of his life, and forged a friendship with LaVey, the Church of Satan’s leader.”
Interestingly, there is another film from Miramax that will follow the life of Sammy Davis Jr. Sydney Sweeney and Colman Domingo will star in the project, titled Scandalous!. This is a separate project from the one led by Leslie Odom Jr.

Ahead of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery‘s streaming debut, Netflix has shared a fun new video featuring an unexpected crossover between the Knives Out and Sesame Street franchises. Following its limited theatrical release, the latest entry to Rian Johnson’s murder mystery franchise is now scheduled to start streaming on December 12 on Netflix.

What happens in the Knives Out and Sesame Street crossover video?
Titled as Forks Out: A Benoit Blanc Sesame Street Mystery, the crossover introduces Beignet Blanc, the puppet version of Daniel Craig‘s Benoit Blanc. In the video, he arrives to help Cookie Monster find out who devoured his triple-berry pie, with Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, and Zoe as the potential suspects.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is once again written and directed by Johnson, who is also producing the project alongside Ram Bergman. For his work on 2022’s Glass Onion, the acclaimed filmmaker earned an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. The ensemble cast includes Craig, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.

50 Cent Explains His 20-Year ‘Beef’ With Diddy Amid New Netflix Documentary
Rapper 50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, has revealed the reason behind his longtime feud with Sean “Diddy” Combs as his new Netflix documentary “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” is set to release on Tuesday, December 2. The “In da Club” singer, alongside the documentary’s director Alexandria Stapleton, sat down with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts in a segment on ABC News to discuss the new series. The trailer for the documentary has already made headlines as it shows exclusive footage of Diddy in the lead-up to his arrest in September 2024.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson reveals why he’s making Sean Combs: The Reckoning on GMA
When asked by Roberts why he was making Sean Combs: The Reckoning in the first place on GMA, 50 Cent shared what made him so “uncomfortable” around Diddy for two decades in the music business.
“What they consider a pre-existing beef, right? For 20 years, right?” Jackson said. “It’s me being uncomfortable with [Sean Combs] suggesting that he takes me shopping.”
He believes Diddy’s request was going to lead to something else he didn’t want to be a part of. “I looked at it as like, it was a tester, like, ‘maybe you’ll come play with me’ type of thing. It’s not personal.”
50 Cent has made similar statements about this awkward conversation he had with Combs in past interviews but in a different context. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in 2024, he said that Diddy’s shopping request was “the weirdest s*** in the world because that might be something that a man says to a woman.”
“And I’m just like, ‘Naw, I’m not f***ing with this weird energy or weird s***,’ coming off the way he was just moving,” he continued. “From that, I wasn’t comfortable around him.”
Many point to the ongoing feud between 50 Cent and Diddy having started back in 2006 when the Queens rapper released a track titled “The Bomb” alleging that Combs was somehow involved in the 1997 murder of Biggie Smalls. Diddy has denied those allegations. That said, Jackson’s statement about his “beef” with Diddy lasting 20 years would fit the timeline. as their shopping conversation would have happened around the time he released that track.
Later in the interview with Good Morning America, Roberts pressed Jackson on the criticism the documentary has received for merely exposing Diddy’s actions and capitalizing on his trial instead of providing a platform for his victims. Jackson denied having any personal motivations for creating the film and said that it was important for someone like him to speak out on behalf of his fellow artists in the music business.
“If I didn’t say anything, you would interpret it as hip-hop is fine with his behaviors,” he responded. “There’s no one else being vocal.”
Footage obtained by Netflix for Sean Combs: The Reckoning, as revealed on GMA, shows candid footage of Combs in the days before his arrest in 2024. In a phone conversation with his lawyers at the Park Hyatt hotel in New York City, the rapper admits being afraid that he was losing the case.
“Listen to me,” he says to his legal team. “Let me get off the phone right now, and I am going to let you professionals look at the situation and come back to me with a solution. No matter, no matter what nobody says… Y’all are not working together the right way. We’re losing.”
50 Cent reacted to the footage, saying that he “was surprised that he actually filmed it.”
Another clip showed Combs walking the streets of Harlem for support, but then later saying in the ride back that he needed hand sanitizer and “to take a bath” from being in contact with so many people. Jackson says this footage of Diddy “should show you his character.”
The four-part documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, premieres on Netflix on December 2. It will examine Diddy’s rise in the hip-hop industry and feature “explosive, never-before-seen materials” and exclusive interview with his former associates, friends, and employees.
