For the past years, Kill Bill director Quentin Tarantino has been entertaining the idea of possibly making a third installment to the iconic martial arts films. In previous interviews, the Oscar-winning filmmaker has also been open to sharing what some of his ideas on a potential Kill Bill: Volume 3 would look like. This includes wanting to see Vernita Green’s own daughter go up against Uma Thurman’s The Bride/Beatrix, with Vivica A. Fox even recommending Emmy winner Zendaya to play her character’s daughter.

Now, in a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Tarantino has again revisited the possibility of directing a Kill Bill: Volume 3. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director revealed that if he ever decided to really move forward with the production of the long-awaited project, he would like to see Thurman’s return and cast the acclaimed actress’ real-life daughter Maya Hawke for the role of B.B.
“I think it’s just revisiting the characters 20 years later and just imagining the Bride and her daughter, B.B., having 20 years of peace, and then that peace is shattered,” Tarantino teased. “And now the Bride and B.B. are on the run and just the idea of being able to cast Uma and cast her daughter Maya in the thing would be f—ing exciting.”
Hawke gained recognition for her fan-favorite performance as Robin in the third season of Netflix’s Stranger Things and is expected to reprise the role in the upcoming fourth season. Tarantino also had the chance to work with the 22-year-old actress through his latest 2019 comedy-drama film.
He also went on to share that previous characters including Elle Driver, Sophie Fatale, and Gogo’s twin sister could also appear in the potential project. “Elle Driver is still out there, Sophie Fatale got her arm cut off, but she’s still out there,” He said. “They all got Bill’s money. Actually, Gogo had a twin sister Shiaki, and so her twin sister could show up.”
