Ghostrunner, One More Level’s cyberpunk first-person parkour game, has been steadily receiving cosmetic DLC, free updates, and ports since its launch in October 2020. However, now it is finally getting its first premium expansion called Project_Hel. This $14.99 add-on is releasing on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Luna, and PC on January 27, 2022.

Project_Hel stars Hel, who players might remember from the base game as the sword-wielding boss. This DLC lets players control Hel as she makes her way through six new levels with an array of new enemies and bosses. Hel will have her own array of upgrades and an extra hit point, which will offer something different from the one-hit kills in the main game (however, an assist mode with a shield was patched in later). One More Level says she is more focused on combat and is designed to “appeal to new players and veterans.”
Project_Hel will also have six new tracks from Daniel Deluxe, the composer behind the original game. A private beta will also let players test the expansion and those who help out will be in the Hel‘s credits.

In addition to the premium DLC, One More Level is also releasing free DLC, too. Starting on December 7, players can grab a cosmetic holiday-themed pack that unlocks the gift wrap-inspired Rudolph’s Run and Boon swords. It’ll also come with the Solstice katana and the Nini Wonderland blade that each come with a matching glove. One More Level released another holiday cosmetic pack in December 2020 for $1.99.
It’s unclear if One More Level is making more Ghostrunner content. The studio had previously teased this Project_Hel expansion as “Ultimate DLC,” which, according to that roadmap, should coincide near a Game of the Year edition of the game. Both entries are also the last entries on that roadmap. This, combined with the announced sequel, likely mean that the original Ghostrunner is winding down after over a year of support.
