Spider-Man: No Way Home Continues to Impress at the Box Office

Spider-Man: No Way Home continued its box office assault this weekend, taking in another $11 million in its seventh week of release — this, despite many east coast theaters closing their doors for winter storm Kenan. To date, Spidey has collected a whopping $735.9 million stateside and has its eyes set on Avatar’s $760M total (not adjusted for inflation).

Per Deadline, Spidey’s reign at the top of the box office, where it has held the crown for six out of its seven weekends, puts it in rare company with titles such as Terms of Endearment (1983), Return of the Jedi (1983), Rain Man (1988), and Rocky IV (1985). For the record, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is still the champ of that particular category with a whopping 16 weekends in the top spot back in 1982. Overseas, Spider-Man has swung past the $1 billion mark to pin its worldwide total at $1.74 billion and counting.

Elsewhere, Scream collected another $7.35 million to raise its domestic total to $62.1 million, while Sing 2 brought in another $4.8 million for a $134.5 million total after six weeks of release — a total that bests the likes of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, West Side Story, The Matrix Resurrections and The King’s Man by a wide margin.
