Darkseid’s casting in the DCU has received a surprising update.
Darkseid will appear in the forthcoming Mister Miracle animated series, which is part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU. The Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios show is based on the Eisner Award-winning comic book series by Tom King and Mitch Gerads. King serves as the showrunner for Mister Miracle.
What did Tom King say about the DCU’s Darkseid casting?
Appearing on The Brave and the Boys, King discussed the casting for the Mister Miracle show. He didn’t reveal any specific names; however, according to his comments, Darkseid’s casting may end up surprising a lot of fans.
“There were some people who nailed it, and were exactly — like, oh my god, that is Scott, that is Barta,” King said. “And then there were some people where it was, that’s not what I expected, but that is Darkseid. It ran the gauntlet from — I mean, I love this book, I love it to death, and I wasn’t going to settle for anything less than perfect — but it ran the gauntlet from perfect to just beyond.”
How big a presence Darkseid, who is generally regarded as being one of the biggest villains in DC Comics, has in the DCU after the Mister Miracle show remains to be seen. Having said that, Gunn previously stated, per IGN, that using the character as “the big bad” in the DCU “right now is not necessarily the thing.”
He added, “For a lot of reasons, because Zack [Snyder] did it so cool in his way, and because of Thanos in Marvel.”
A premiere date for the Mister Miracle show has not yet been announced. A portion of the description reads, “No prison can hold him. No trap can contain him. He is Scott Free, the worldwide celebrity sensation known as Mister Miracle, and he is the greatest escape artist who ever lived. But can he pull off the ultimate trick – and escape death itself? Something has gone horribly wrong with the perfect life that Scott and his warrior wife Big Barda have built for themselves on Earth. With war raging between their home worlds of Apocalypse and New Genesis, Scott’s cruel adoptive father, Darkseid, seems to have finally captured the Anti-Life Equation – the ultimate weapon that will give Darkseid total dominance over the universe.”

Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins recently reunited for The Road So Far… The Road Ahead convention in Las Vegas this past weekend, where both made it clear that they are ready for James Gunn to bring them back as their respective Batman characters.
What did Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins say about the DCU?
Ackles remains a popular pick for Bruce Wayne/Batman in Gunn’s DC Universe. The actor has experience in the role, having previously played the character in animation. He voiced the Dark Knight in the Tomorrowverse series of DC Animated Movies, appearing in Batman: The Long Halloween (2021), Legion of Super-Heroes, Justice League: Warworld (both 2023), and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths (2024).
As for Collins, he was a series regular on the short-lived CW series Gotham Knights. He portrayed Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent, who in the series finale is burned with acid and becomes Two-Face.
Per ComicBookMovie, both actors discussed reprising their DC roles during the convention’s Supernatural panel, with Ackles stating, “There are probably a few [dream roles]. Yes, somebody up here yelled Batman. Yes, that is certainly a dream role. I mean, I’ve got a few go-tos: Batman, Wyatt Earp, Robin Hood, that kind of stuff.”
Collins dove a bit deeper with his response, noting first that Sebastian Stan had recently been cast to play Harvey Dent in Matt Reeves’ forthcoming The Batman Part II.
“Playing Two-Face was a dream role. Sebastian Stan just got cast as Two-Face in the next Batman movie, which I did not not feel jealous about,” the actor joked. “I was like, ‘Grrr,’ and if he were to meet with an accident and they needed to find . . . I’d certainly free up my schedule to make myself available.”
Check out Ackles and Collins’ entire Supernatural panel below:
Ackles and Collins still have a chance to play Batman and Two-Face again, as neither role has been cast yet in the DCU. Unfortunately for both actors, DC Studios seems to be taking its time with developing The Brave and the Bold, with Gunn recently stating that fans should not expect any major updates for the movie until The Batman Part II is finished.
In the meantime, audiences can stream Gotham Knights and select Tomorrowverse movies on HBO Max.

Christopher Judge, who voices the character of Kratos in the PlayStation game, has reacted to the live-action casting of Ryan Hurst as the God of War protagonist. The God of War live-action TV series has been in development at Prime Video, with showrunner Ronald D. Moore. Before him, Rafe Judkins was working on the show, but he exited as the studio decided to take a different creative direction.
Christopher Judge happily passes Kratos’ mantle for live-action God of War series
The Stargate SG-1 actor, who voices the legendary God of War character Kratos, has some words for Ryan Hurst. The latter was recently cast in the live-action show.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Christopher Judge reacted to the casting update. He wrote, “Congrats Ryan!!!! You’re gonna be great… BOI !!!”
In the casting update, the developer of the God of War game, Santa Monica Studio, stated, “Congratulations to Ryan Hurst (@RamboDonkeyKong) who will be stepping into the role of Kratos for the upcoming God of War live action series! We’re excited to see his take on Kratos as he joins the legendary ranks of T.C. Carson and Christopher Judge, who have each shaped this character in unforgettable ways.”
Notably, while Hurst is playing the role of Kratos in live-action, he voiced the character of Thor in God of War Ragnarök and faced off against the former. Following the announcement of his playing Kratos, he took to Instagram and posted an image of God of War on the screen.
Hurst noted, “Used to play as him. Now I get to be him. Grateful to pick up the axe, and honored by the fans who made this story legendary.”
Recently, Teresa Palmer has also joined the series as Phoebe or Sif, Thor’s wife, according to a report by Deadline. However, Amazon has not commented on it as of writing.

The popular British television series, Blake’s 7, is all set to get a reboot from Peter Hoar, the director of HBO’s renowned post-apocalyptic series, The Last of Us. Created by Terry Nation, the series broke new ground in British TV history, pushing the bounds of science fiction. It follows Roj Blake and his group of rebels. They go against the authoritarian Terran Federation, which colonizes numerous planets and Earth. The sci-fi show originally aired on the BBC between 1978 and 1981.
Peter Hoar is developing Blake’s 7 reboot
According to a new report, the director of The Last of Us is working on the reboot of the legendary British TV programme Blake’s 7.
Per Deadline, Peter Hoar is joining hands with the executive producer of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, Matthew Bouch, and Jason Haigh-Ellery, the executive producer of More Than This.
Hoar gained immense praise and fame after he directed the episode “Long, Long Time” from The Last of Us Season 1. The outlet also states that while he is pumped to take the director’s chair for the reboot of this 1978 show, the trio is looking to release it on the BBC.
Talking about working on the reboot, Hoar said in a statement, “The Blake’s 7 story is legendary because they were given a ‘softly softly’ slot that was intended for police drama with a budget intended for one big set and a few location shoots. At the time, it felt like it meant something. Those shows got into my veins. I could tell they didn’t have money, but I was able to compartmentalize and enjoy the ride knowing that the sets wobbled.”
Bouch also commented, “We’re driven by our passions but also seeing that there is a gap in the market in the UK – particularly with the well-publicized dropping off of Doctor Who – for genre-based British IP. We are looking to the international market and seeing if there is a way of dovetailing that British low-budget sensibility with international markets. We know in the U.S. there’s a big contraction, and we all need to think about finding ways to make things more economical.”
Meanwhile, more details regarding the reboot’s cast, plot, and release window are expected to be released in the near future.

While we often live through the world of fiction when it comes to storytelling, the truth is sometimes even more compelling than make-believe. Seeing these stories brought to light through documentary filmmaking can be some of the most incredible viewing experiences we have. These are just a few of the top documentaries on Netflix.
What are the best documentaries on Netflix?
From true crime stories to profiles of remarkable individuals, to unbelievable stories of resilience under the most unimaginable circumstances, and even heartwarming tales of blossoming love, it’s impossible not to find something here that leaves you in shock, awe, or wonder. Some of these documentaries are feature-length films, some are shorts, and others are docuseries, but all are unforgettable.
13th (2016)
Nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature, 13th is directed by filmmaker Ava DuVernay and examines the American prison-industrial complex. The film traces its roots back to the enactment of the 13th Amendment, which formally ended slavery while leaving a critical exception: forced labor as punishment for a crime. 13th argues that slavery has continued in the United States through this loophole, contending that the nation’s prison system disproportionately targets and incarcerates African Americans.
Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution (2020)
This truly beautiful documentary takes us to a summer camp in the Catskills, where a group of teens with disabilities form bonds that would last a lifetime. At Camp Jened, these teens are given freedom and independence, something many of them had never seen before, especially considering the time. But most importantly, they found a sense of belonging. What none of them could have known at the time was that these friendships would eventually help spark a disability rights movement that would change the world. Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature and was executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama.
To Kill a Tiger (2022)
There’s no way to sugarcoat this. To Kill a Tiger is a difficult watch, but essential. This critically acclaimed documentary feature follows a humble father in rural India who refuses to stay silent after his 13-year-old daughter is brutally assaulted in a gang rape. In a society that pressures victims and their families into silence, his decision to pursue justice is an act of resistance and defiance to the systems that be.
The Last Dance (2020)
There are sports icons, and then there’s Michael Jordan, who exists on a level entirely his own. This miniseries takes us through his early life, meteoric rise to fame, and the cultural phenomenon of his time with the Chicago Bulls’ dynasty of the 1990s. The series includes archival footage with candid interviews, making this every bit as entertaining as you think it would be. But The Last Dance isn’t just about basketball — it’s about obsession and the cost of greatness.
Love on the Spectrum (2022)
Love on the Spectrum is an unscripted romantic documentary series that fills us with every ounce of fuzzy warmth. The series follows people on the autism spectrum as they navigate dating and the search for connection. It’s quietly touching, occasionally awkward — dating always is, even for neurotypical folks — and is genuinely heartwarming without ever feeling exploitative. While Love on the Spectrum might technically walk the line of reality television, it’s so much deeper than that. Our favorite thing about this docu-series is that it treats its subjects with real care.
The White Helmets (2016)
This Academy Award–winning short documentary focuses on the volunteer rescue workers known as the White Helmets, who risk their lives daily to save civilians in war-torn Syria. Amid constant danger and devastation, the film highlights small moments of humanity and hope. It’s a brief but powerful watch.
A Perfect Neighbor (2025)
From documentary filmmaker Geeta Gandbhir, A Perfect Neighbor chronicles a long-running dispute between neighbors that ultimately ended in the fatal shooting of Ajike Owens by her neighbor, Susan Lorincz, in Ocala, Florida. Through bodycam footage and interviews, the film closely examines the events leading up to and following the shooting. Winner of the Best Director award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, A Perfect Neighbor places conversations around prejudice, fear, and Stand Your Ground laws squarely at the center.
Chef’s Table (2015)
This long-running documentary series is simply a joy to watch. Each episode profiles a different world-class chef, exploring not just their food but the journey behind the auteur. It’s beautifully shot and often surprisingly emotional — we’ve watched more than a few episodes that have left us in tears. Running a restaurant is hard, and don’t believe anyone who’s suggested otherwise. While each episode is an ode to culinary achievement, it’s also about creativity and the discipline required to make it to the top. Even if you’re not particularly interested in food, Chef’s Table has a way of pulling you in. If you’ve made it through the seven seasons on Netflix and are hungry for more, Season 8 drops in April.
Cover-Up (2025)
One of Netflix’s more recent additions, Cover-Up focuses on a Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist who brought some of the most shocking government cover-ups in U.S. history into the light. The film revisits investigations into events like the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam and the torture committed by U.S. soldiers at Abu Ghraib during the Iraq War. This feature is meticulous and unsettling, and a great look into the power (and importance) of investigative journalism.
American Factory (2019)
At first glance, American Factory feels like a straightforward story about jobs returning to a struggling town. It’s a lot more than what it seems, though, as this Oscar-winning documentary takes us into the dynamics between American workers and their high-tech employers in the 21st century. Following the opening of a Chinese-owned factory in post-industrial Ohio, the initial hope sparked by new jobs slowly erodes as tensions rise between labor and management. The feature-length documentary film resists the urge to vilify anyone, instead presenting a deeply humanist picture of globalization and the people caught in its middle.
Our Planet (2019)
Narrated by David Attenborough, Our Planet is as breathtaking as documentaries come. The documentary series takes us across jungles, oceans, deserts, and polar ice caps to show the beauty of this remarkable world we live in. Of course, in addition to showcasing the natural world’s incredible beauty, it confronts the devastating impact of climate change. It’s awe-inspiring and sobering in equal measure.
How we picked the top documentaries on Netflix
There are many great ones currently available for streaming, so we narrowed our choices to documentary features and series that have received critical acclaim and audience response. We also tried to offer a mix across genres. Still, this is just a shot list of the best.
It’s a New Year, and one of the best ways to get through the post-holiday blues and the lack of daylight is to take a deep dive into one of the best film genres out there. Crime movies cover a vast array of genres, but Netflix has pretty much any option you’re looking for. Here are just a few of the best crime movies on Netflix.
What are the best crime movies on Netflix?
These are just a few of our top picks. There are plenty of other great titles, plus a few more coming to Netflix towards the end of the month.
Watcher (2022)
First impulse said this was released only a few years ago, but with the start of 2026, that’s no longer true. Still, it’s been an overlooked film, but it should well be at the forefront of any crime enthusiast’s watchlist. This serial killer thriller is genuinely unsettling to watch.
A husband and wife move to Bucharest just as news breaks of a string of local murders. Soon, the wife begins to sense she’s being followed, though surveillance footage never quite confirms her fears. Things escalate when she becomes convinced a man in the apartment across from hers is watching her through the window. This one gives off strong Rear Window vibes while fully embracing its Eastern European atmosphere. Watcher premiered at Sundance in 2021, where it won the Grand Jury Prize.
The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)
Anthony Minghella’s psychological thriller adapts Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 novel, the first in the Riley series. The film follows Tom Ripley (Matt Damon), a guy who is an absolute piece of work but also deeply charming. Yes, heavy narcissistic red flags here. He’s sent to Italy to convince a wealthy heir to return home, but instead becomes obsessed with the man’s lavish lifestyle. Then we get to see exactly what psychopathy looks like.
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
It’s sometimes just a lot of fun to watch a story about an absolutely terrible person, and this one is glorious in almost every way. Scorsese gave us a film that was iconic for its time and still holds up. You can see the Goodfellas influence clearly, but swap out the mob for white-collar money, even more cocaine, and a lot more yachts. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort, a Wall Street executive sentenced to prison for fraud, but the film focuses on his outrageous rise to power and excess before the inevitable crash. Jonah Hill is also excellent in his supporting role.
The Irishman (2019)
Another Scorsese film on the list, The Irishman, separates itself from The Wolf of Wall Street as much as possible in both tone and style. The movie takes us to the 1950s, where truck driver Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro) gets involved with the mob family, led by Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci). He climbs the ranks and ends up working for the infamous Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino). The Irishman also brings together the legends of Scorsese’s mob films, including Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, and Harvey Keitel.
Knives Out: Wake Up the Dead Man (2025)
If you liked the first two Benoit Blanc movies, this should be right up your alley. And if you liked the first but couldn’t make it through the first ten minutes of the second, this one might still win you over. Josh O’Connor plays a priest sent to a parish under the leadership of a monsignor who is as divisive as he is powerful. When the monsignor turns up dead, suspicion quickly falls on the new priest, who has made no secret of his dislike for the man. Enter Benoit Blanc, who teams up with the young priest to unravel the mystery.
The Good Nurse (2022)
Like Watcher, we’re not quite sure why this one stayed relatively quiet in terms of audience buzz. In this true-crime drama, Jessica Chastain plays an ICU nurse who befriends a fellow nurse (Eddie Redmayne) who also happens to be a serial killer responsible for the deaths of hundreds of patients. While it’s very different from what we typically think of when we imagine a serial killer movie, The Good Nurse has everything you’d want from a crime film. Chastain’s character risks everything to help put this man behind bars and expose the institutional failures that allowed it all to happen in the first place.
Zodiac (2007)
You’ll find Zodiac on just about any best-of list dedicated to the crime genre. It’s absolutely worth a watch, a rewatch, and a few more rewatches. This slow-burning thriller follows a group of journalists and investigators as they attempt to track down the elusive Zodiac Killer. As more people are murdered, the killer taunts newspapers with cryptic clues. He always seems to stay one step ahead and just out of reach. The cast is stacked, with standout performances from Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr., and Mark Ruffalo. While we know the actors and David Fincher earn their laurels for this film, we also have to give a shoutout to the late great cinematographer Harris Savides.
Parasite (2019)
Maybe not the first movie people think of when they hear “crime film,” but Parasite is about as good as it gets. It also feels like a post-holiday gift that it’s available on Netflix. Bong Joon-ho’s psychological thriller follows the Kim family, who see an opportunity when their son starts working for the very wealthy Park family. What begins as an almost funny setup gets increasingly darker. The film absolutely cleaned up at the Oscars, winning Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature.
The Illusionist (2006)
This one might push us into a sub–sub-genre, but it absolutely counts. It’s a mid-2000s standout that we still can’t help but love. Edward Norton plays a peasant boy who shares a deep childhood bond with a girl from a noble family, only for the two to be torn apart by class and circumstance. Years later, he resurfaces as a world-famous illusionist, while Sophie (Jessica Biel) has become trapped in the political machinery of an arranged marriage in late 19th-century Vienna.
We don’t want to give away any spoilers, but just know this story of forbidden romance turns darker when an important character is found dead. A determined detective is assigned to the case, trying to untangle the mystery.
The Devil All The Time (2020)
The Devil All The Time has more crimes than we can count in this article. It just seems to be the way of things for this gritty, Appalachian gothic. Antonio Campos’ adaptation of Donald Ray Pollack’s novel is a sprawling film that follows multiple, interconnected characters and storylines, all troubled by cycles of violence. We’ve got corrupt cops, predatory preachers, serial killers, and abusive parents, just to name a few of the figures you’ll see. The film is disturbing on multiple levels, and the performances are outstanding. The cast includes Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Bill SkarsgÃ¥rd, Riley Keough, Jason Clarke, and Sebastian Stan.
How we picked the best crime movies on Netflix
There are a lot of great picks for the best crime movies on Netflix, which feels different from previous years. We picked the films with the best critical and audience feedback, as well as a few personal favorites that might have been overlooked in recent years.
With many Marvelstars reprising their characters inAvengers: Doomsday, fans have been wondering if Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord would join them. Speculation about the actor’s appearance in the film began after his name was noticeably absent from the cast reveal livestream in March 2025. Now, Pratt has addressed whether he will reprise the intergalactic superhero in the film.
Chris Pratt would only tell the Pope if he’s in Avengers: Doomsday
In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host asked the Guardians of the Galaxy star if Pope Leo XIV, whom he met at the Vatican in December 2025, knew he was playing Mario in the Super Mario films. He responded in a hilarious tone, “He was furious.”
Jimmy Kimmel then asked Chris Pratt if he would tell the Pope the truth about his involvement in Avengers: Doomsday if the latter enquired. “I would have to tell him,” the 46-year-old actor replied.
“But you won’t tell me?” Kimmel asked, to which Pratt quipped, “Not quite the Pope, Jimmy,” prompting laughter from the audience.
Last year, in an interview with Collider, Pratt also admitted that he was uncertain when Star-Lord would appear in the MCU again. However, he assured fans of Peter Quill that the character would return. He even brought up the promise from one of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s post-credits scenes, which states, “The Legendary Star-Lord will return.”
Notably, in the same interview, Chris Pratt jokingly addressed the absence of his name from the Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal livestream. He said, “I don’t know! I think it was, like, far off… They must have cut away from it. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know. It was there. I’m sure it was there.”
Currently, Star-Lord and his Guardians of the Galaxy teammates are some of the Marvel characters unconfirmed for Doomsday. Thus, it remains to be seen where he will show up in the MCU next. However, a rumor from scooper James Mack suggests Star-Lord will show up in both the Disney+ series VisionQuest and Doomsday.
Additionally, Marvel Studios teased the inclusion of more actors and characters for Avengers: Doomsday. They did so in an Instagram comment exchange with Robert Downey Jr. at the time of the cast reveal. He wondered if the names shown on the chairs were the full, finalized cast. To this, Marvel Studios replied, “There’s always room for more…”
However, it’s currently unclear if Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord will be part of the next lineup reveal.

The future of Game of Thrones got some massive updates recently, including information on three different spin-offs, and an update on the once-in-development Jon Snow sequel.
What’s the status on the Jon Snow TV show and other Game of Thrones spin-offs?
In a recent interview with A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin with The Hollywood Reporter, THR reported on a variety of new projects that are in the pipeline for the Game of Thrones universe. First up, the previously reported on Sea Snake series that was said to be in development. THR notes that the development of the project has “quietly shifted” from a live-action show to something animated, in an effort to keep costs down.
Another bigger project listed is said to be based on King Aegon Targaryen and his conquest of Westeros, that sets the stage for what would become Game of Thrones. A project based on that is said to be developed by HBO as either a drama series, or, as THR notes, as a “mammoth Dune-sized feature film.” The THR profile also touches on the once-in-development Jon Snow series, which may not be fully canceled just yet.
The report notes that Martin has been resistant to sequels to Game of Thrones due to the fact that the endings to the show will differ greatly from the eventual books that Martin plans to write. “[The book’s ending is] going to be significantly different,” Martin said of that fact. “Some characters who are alive in my book are going to be dead in the show, and vice versa.”
However, THR’s report mentions that the Jon Snow sequel has actually been revived, with Drops of God writer Quoc Dang Tran coming aboard to potentially help make the series. The story is still being fleshed out, according to THR, and could even shift to add Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams in Game of Thrones). An insider speaking to THR said that HBO was being cautious about the series for now, though, and are “keenly aware of how high the bar of execution needs to be.”
Unfortunately for those who may be hoping for Jon Snow to come back, though, star Kit Harington seems to be against that. In an interview with Variety last month, Harington said he had no desire whatsoever to return to the character, after having already played the role of Snow for over a decade.
“No, god no,” Harington said. “I don’t wanna go anywhere near it. I spent 10 years doing that. Thanks, I’m alright.”

Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, the executive producers of an upcoming Star Trek series, promised major easter eggs referencing an iconic entry in the franchise, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993-1999). One of the highly anticipated entries in the Star Trek universe, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, will predominantly take place in the 32nd century. It will revolve around a new class of Starfleet cadets as they train to become officers.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy EPs promise Episode 5 will be a ‘love letter’ to Deep Space Nine
Kurtzman and Landau discussed Starfleet Academy in an interview with TrekMovie at a press junket for the show. Landau disclosed that episode 5 will be “essentially a love letter” to Deep Space Nine.
“But I think, in the show itself, there’s so many Easter eggs to Trek,” Landau said. “One of the ones that really stands out to the fans is Harry Kim being an admiral on the Wall of Heroes. Our atrium is named Sato Atrium. We have Uhura Pavilion. We have so many honors to the people who came before us. And episode 5 is essentially a love letter to Deep Space Nine.”
Kurtzman added that if the viewer hasn’t seen Deep Space Nine before watching Starfleet Academy, the latter can serve as “a wonderful introduction.” He continued, “If you do know Deep Space Nine, it’s really meaningful. And that was the goal. Yes, of course, if we don’t make shows for a new generation, and then the new generation after that, Trek is going to die, right? Our goal is to keep it alive.”
Loki, the new One Piece character with two Devil Fruits, has finally appeared in the manga and might be as strong as Marshall D. Teach, AKA Blackbeard. Loki is the Prince of Elbaph and the son of King Harald. He is infamous for being the one who killed his father, the King of Elbaph.
One Piece recent chapter reveals Loki possesses two Devil Fruits
The recent chapter of One Piece 1170 has given fans a glimpse of the true power of Loki, the Prince of Elbaph. Known as the accursed prince of Elbaph, he is seen facing Ragnir as he goes on to retrieve the forbidden Devil Fruit from the treasure chest of Elbaph.
The fight between Ragnir and Loki ends in the latter finally consuming the Devil Fruit. In addition to that, he has also taken Ragnir with him. According to the details provided by Comic Book Resources, Ragnir is a warhammer that can transform into a squirrel. However, whether it was a squirrel that consumed the hammer Devil Fruit or the hammer that ate the Squirrel Devil Fruit has not been revealed yet.
A glimpse of Loki’s true power after possessing the fruits is shown when he kills his father, the King of Elbaph. In the chapter, fans also notice a silhouette of Ragnir in human form. However, there is no confirmation if it is the warhammer.
The possession of these two Devil Fruits brings Loki close to, or on par with, one of the major antagonists of the manga, Marshall D. Teach, AKA Blackbeard. As one of the four emperors of the sea, he possesses the power of two Devil Fruits.
The first is the Tremor-Tremor fruit, which allows Blackbeard to cause earthquakes. He stole that fruit from Whitebeard. The second fruit is Dark-Dark fruit, which grants Blackbeard darkness manipulation powers and absorption abilities.

Toho has officially revealedthe first poster for Godzilla Minus Zero and confirmed its release date, breaking their silence on the sequel to Godzilla Minus One. The announcement comes as excitement builds for the next installment in the modern revival of the Japanese franchise.
Godzilla Minus Zero to premiere in November 2026
Godzilla Minus Zero, directed by Takashi Yamazaki, will premiere in North American theaters on November 6, 2026. Toho scheduled the Japanese release for November 3, 2026, to coincide with the anniversary of the original 1954 Godzilla release, recognized as Godzilla Day. This near-simultaneous international launch is a rare occurrence for Japan-produced Godzilla films, according to Toho.
The new film is a sequel to Godzilla Minus One, which opened in Japan on November 3, 2023, and later in North America. It became the highest-grossing Japanese-language live-action film in North America, earning $56 million across a wide theatrical release. It also became the first Godzilla film nominated for an Academy Award and the first Japanese film to win the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
Toho confirmed that Takashi Yamazaki returns as director, screenwriter, and visual effects supervisor for Godzilla Minus Zero. Production is already underway at Toho Studios, with Robot as the production company and visual effects handled by Shirogumi. The filmmakers have not yet revealed plot details.
They officially revealed the sequel’s title during Godzilla Fest in November 2025, following months of speculation and anticipation from fans worldwide.
Takashi Yamazaki previously shared, “Until recently, I’ve been still shooting on film and I like to use miniatures. So I know that someday we’re going to have to embrace and kind of work with AI, but I’m probably going to be one of the later ones because I do like working with older technology and techniques” (via Variety).
Toho and GKids are handling the film’s release.
