One of Peacock‘s most popular comedy shows has finally returned with a brand-new season. As of today, subscribers can stream all eight new episodes of Ted Season 2, which serves as the latest installment of Seth MacFarlane’s hit prequel comedy show.
What do we know about Peacock’s Ted Season 2?
Ted serves as a prequel spin-off to Mark Wahlberg’s popular comedy franchise. The main cast includes Seth MacFarlane as the voice of Ted, Max Burkholder as John, Alanna Ubach as Susan, Scott Grimes as Matty, and Giorgia Whigham as Blair. It is written and executive-produced by showrunners MacFarlane, Paul Corrigan, and Brad Walsh. Executive producers are Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Jason Clark, and Aimee Carlson.
“It’s 1994, and senior year of high school is underway for Ted the foul-mouthed teddy bear and his best friend, likable but awkward John Bennett. Together they live in a working-class Boston home with John’s parents (Matty and Susan) and cousin (Blaire),” reads the official synopsis for Season 2. “Matty is a blustering, blue-collar Bostonian who sees himself as the unequivocal boss of the house and doesn’t like anyone challenging him, particularly his liberal-minded niece. Susan is kind, selfless, and almost pathologically sweet when it comes to caring for her family. Blaire is an outspoken college student who often finds herself at odds with her more traditional-minded relatives.”
The show is a production by UCP. The first installment became Peacock’s most-watched original title and was the #1 Original Streaming Comedy in the U.S. for more than two consecutive months (per Nielsen). In addition, it has also been confirmed that the franchise will continue to expand with an upcoming Ted animated sequel series, with Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried reprising their lead roles from the live-action movies.
