Keeping up with the trend of cinematic popcorn buckets, fans will soon be able to get their hands on one inspired by the Scream franchise.
The iconic franchise returns to theaters in October with a rerelease of the 1996 original, Scream. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Cinemark Theatres has revealed a new popcorn bucket featuring the iconic slasher villain, Ghostface.
The Ghostface popcorn bucket will be available with orders of XL popcorn. It will be accompanied by a souvenir cup as well, adorned with text of the iconic line from the film, “What’s your favorite scary movie?” Both of them also include free same-day refills for all buyers returning to theaters for Scream.
The Original Scream is returning to theaters for its 30th anniversary
The Scream franchise redefined the slasher genre, and it is returning to theaters once more for its 30th anniversary.
The film, directed by Wes Craven, told the story of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott and her friends being targeted by a costumed serial killer in Woodsboro, California. The first film’s success led to the inception of a new franchise, with six sequels and a TV series. Campbell, along with many other original cast members, has reprised the role numerous times.
Its most recent entry, Scream 7, became the franchise’s highest-grossing project, collecting over $207 million worldwide, per Box Office Mojo. However, it also received the franchise’s worst reviews, despite a more positive response from audiences.
Fans are now waiting for the next installment, Scream 8, which will be written by Lila and Nora Zuckerman. The film has yet to land a director or receive a release date.
The 30th-anniversary rerelease also honors original cast member C.W. Morgan, who portrayed Hank Loomis in the original film and passed away earlier this week at age 72.
The theatrical rerelease of Scream hits Cinemark Theatres on October 30, 2026.
