
New HBO Max movie and TV releases from May 25 to May 31, 2026, include Rampage. Directed by Brad Peyton, the 2018 movie went on to become a hit.
The science fiction monster film focuses on the struggles of a primatologist, Davis, and his gorilla friend, George. The unusual duo comes together to stop George and other animals who are transformed into raging beasts due to genetic manipulation. Rampage opened to mixed reviews but became successful at the box office, grossing $428 million against a reported budget of $120–140 million.
The star cast features Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and many others in key roles.
Also coming to HBO Max is the mockumentary film, The Moment. It covers the life of a rising pop star, Charli XCX, dealing with the struggles of fame and pressure from the industry amid the preparation of her arena tour debut. The Moment opened to mixed reviews with a 6.1/10 rating on IMDb and 66% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Besides Charli XCX, the film has Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, and Hailey Benton Gates in important roles.
