God of War Ragnarök is the longest entry in the series, even besting the 2018 title in that regard. And according to a recent interview, players shouldn’t expect that hour count to be extended through big pieces of DLC.

Game Director Eric Williams spoke about it on a Kinda Funny Games spoilercast. When prompted on whether or not this sequel would have an expansion despite the previous game not having one, he didn’t strike the idea down completely, but implied that players should not get their hopes up.
“I don’t know, man,” said Williams. “That game is big. I think we put everything we had into it, so I wouldn’t count on it.”
Williams then stated that he doesn’t know what he is doing next, but he would love to get the Castlevania license and have the team work on that next. He then said that mentioning that “just got [him] in so much trouble” before laughing about it.

God of War Ragnarök will be getting some post-launch content, though, but these will likely be made available in free updates. Santa Monica Studio already said that Photo Mode was coming, and some have even unlocked it prematurely. The game also doesn’t have a New Game Plus mode, but the team hasn’t mentioned it either way. Both Photo Mode and New Game Plus came to the 2018 God of War in patches three weeks after launch and four months after launch, respectively.
Hungry players can still go back into Ragnarök and hunt down many of its secrets in order to squeeze more replayability out of it. Williams talked in detail during the podcast about the surprises that await players in the post-game as well as a lot of the subtle foreshadowing eagle-eyed viewers can seek out during a second run.
